00:00After a spectacular political comeback, the 45th President of the Republic in a couple

00:05of hours will be sworn in as the 47th leader of the United States.

00:09And after noontime Eastern or midnight Philippine time, newly minted President Donald Trump

00:14will issue a barrage of executive orders from kickstarting the mass deportations of illegal

00:19immigrants to rescinding a number of executive orders of his predecessor to a sweeping pardon

00:24of scores.

00:26If not hundreds of J6 2021 rioters who stormed the Capitol building to help him overturn

00:31results of a free and fair election held in 2020.

00:34Meanwhile, the president's aides have said the inauguration speech President Donald J.

00:38Trump will deliver after his oath taking will dwell on light and unity, as opposed to the

00:43dark message of America's decline in his American carnage speech in 2017's inauguration in an

00:49attempt to bring more Americans into his MAGA tent.

00:52But then again, the barrage of executive orders to be released on day one of his 2.0 presidency

00:57will determine the truthfulness and sincerity of the message of today's inauguration speech.

01:05Now here to give us an update on the latest happenings live in Washington, D.C., is Voice

01:10of America's Jessica Stone.

01:12Good morning, Jessica.

01:13Good morning to you.

01:16It's so great to see you here again to give us an update.

01:19You took us from the U.S. elections, who many dubbed as one of the greatest epic political

01:24victories in U.S. history.

01:26And now we are here at another key and crucial moment.

01:29What can we expect from today's inauguration festivities?

01:32And how is the record cold impacting all of this?

01:36Well, it's driving everyone inside, including the U.S. president, the elect and the sitting

01:42U.S. president.

01:43Everyone right now is at a church service on the other side of the city near the White

01:48House.

01:49And I'm just hearing the vehicles now.

01:51I suspect that they are making a movement towards the White House in order to have White

01:57House tea together.

01:58So the Bidens and the Trumps are actually going to spend some time together at the White

02:02House before coming together down Pennsylvania Avenue here to the U.S. Capitol.

02:06And I don't know if you can see behind me, but those flags are draped on the west front

02:11of the Capitol.

02:12That was supposed to be the backdrop where the swearing in would take place.

02:16But now that swearing in will take place under the dome, the Capitol Rotunda there.

02:22And just to, you know, some dozens of people, maybe 100 people under that Capitol Rotunda

02:29in order to witness firsthand the swearing in of the president and the president-elect,

02:34the only place to see this in person will be the Capitol Rotunda.

02:39Everyone else will be watching on a live feed.

02:41Much of it streamed to the Capitol One arena, which is due west from where I'm standing

02:45now, here just a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

02:48That seats 20,000 people, but 240,000 people had actually gotten tickets to be on the west

02:55front lawn, to be here on the National Mall to witness this event.

02:58OK, Jessica, tuning into the climate that President Donald Trump steps into, I mean,

03:04he enters into his 2.0 presidency with a deck stacked in his favor, both houses of Congress

03:09controlled by the GOP, plus a conservative leading Supreme Court.

03:14But cracks have appeared in the seemingly solid union during the election of the House

03:17Speaker and the passage of a stopgap funding bill to keep federal government running.

03:22Hardline GOP solons have indicated they will not go for another stab at racing the debt

03:27ceiling in March when Congress votes again for a continuing resolution to keep the federal

03:32government in business.

03:33Are there thoughts or any rhetoric about whether the president can keep them in line?

03:38You know, he's certainly going to have to use the art of the deal because there is a

03:44very slim majority here on Capitol Hill.

03:47Yes, the Republicans did win a majority in both the House and Senate, but they do have

03:51it by very slim margins.

03:53And among those margins is a significant amount of Republicans who want to cut spending.

04:00That is not something President Trump has done.

04:03He raised spending in his last presidency.

04:06And there are a number of conservatives who are dead set against any raising of the debt

04:11ceiling, as you point out, any further budget increase without offsets.

04:16And so he's going to have his work cut out for him with some of these initiatives.

04:19But keep in mind, he's going to start today with a blizzard of executive orders on immigration

04:24and climate policy, trying to rev up the U.S. economy.

04:28That may give him a stronger hand going into some of these negotiations.

04:31Of course, it's not something we would see that quickly.

04:35And it is something that he has promised to make good on for those who elected him

04:39and for the broader American people.

04:41OK, touching on some recent developments, there have been some confusion with who should

04:46actually take credit for the Hamas-Israel ceasefire deal.

04:50What has been some of the backtalk on this?

04:52Well, listen, I think it's fair to say that this could not have happened without both

04:58of these presidents.

04:59Right.

05:00You're going to hear both sides claim credit and accuse the others of not being helpful.

05:05But the reality is, is that all of these negotiators for both the incoming administration and the

05:08current administration were, if not in the room, nearby and coordinating to make sure

05:13that what started under the Biden administration continues under the Trump administration.

05:18Because this deal is not over.

05:19We still have two more phases to go.

05:22There have only been three Israeli hostages released, some 90 Palestinian hostages released.

05:28And it's not going to be finished until these other phases go through.

05:32And the Trump administration has to carry those out.

05:34So you saw Steve Whitkoff in the region.

05:36He was back here last night talking about the success of having those hostages released.

05:41Of course, a lot of people in the United States holding their breaths to see whether or not

05:46the deal will hold for further releases to take place.

05:49But something that nobody is saying is that in the region in particular is that this could

05:54have happened without the Trump administration and the threats that Trump made on the campaign

05:58trail and just days ago saying, I will let all hell break loose if we don't get those

06:03hostages back.

06:04OK, heading back to inauguration festivities, what can we expect from the president elect

06:10speech and what would be his top initiatives after being sworn in?

06:15So top initiatives, I'll take that question first.

06:19We've got a number of executive orders on immigration, reversing by climate policy,

06:24taking sections of the legislation that was passed out or at least not enforcing them,

06:31which is going to be controversial because Congress did pass the Inflation Reduction

06:35Act that had a lot of climate provisions.

06:36They want to roll back renewable energy subsidies.

06:39They want to roll back the restrictions on drilling and federal lands and on immigration.

06:44They want to surge resources to the southern border.

06:47He is going to have a lighter speech, we expect, talking about the comment, the revolution

06:51of common sense that he intends to bring, which is in stark contrast to his very negative,

06:59you know, sort of doom and gloom kind of scenario that he outlined eight years ago from Capitol

07:03Hill during his first inauguration speech.

07:07So really a flurry of activity.

07:09He wants to come in and make a splash.

07:11That is classic Trump, right?

07:13He wants to, whenever he goes somewhere, he wants to make an impact.

07:17And that is certainly what he has promised to do today with some 100 to 200 executive

07:21orders queued up, ready to go, because he had those four years during the Biden presidency,

07:26not only to plan what he wanted to do, but how he was going to execute it.

07:31Well, we will be watching.
