00:00In response to complaints that rice traders are offering low prices for their produce,
00:06the palace encouraged farmers to sell their rice directly to the National Food Authority
00:12or NFA.
00:13Malacanang urged farmers to approach their local government units or LGUs for assistance
00:19in connecting with the NFA.
00:22The government also clarified that rice imports are not contributing to the drop in local
00:27rice prices.
00:28Aside from this, the government plans to purchase trucks that can help farmers transport their
00:34rice to the NFA, addressing the transportation issue that has hindered their ability to sell
00:40their produce.
00:41The problem is that our farmers do not have a vehicle.
00:49But according to our Secretary, we are already doing procuring of trucks.
00:56And not just now, because we are only getting a bidding right now.
01:00So that when we have a vehicle, we can directly sell it to the farmers and they will not have
01:05a hard time selling their rice to the NFA.
