00:00Champion Vino Rosso made a splash at the Fasig-Tipton July sale when he had eight yearlings sell
00:08for six figures.
00:09Now with the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale on the horizon, we stopped in and visited a few
00:14yearlings who will be going through the sales ring in Saratoga.
00:19With Vino Rosso, I think the biggest thing we loved about him is when we started going
00:23out and looking at all of the foals is he was really stamping them.
00:27That was the one theme that we got from Vino more than any of the other stallions out
00:32of this group was just how consistent they were.
00:35And they kind of look like the better Curlins.
00:37They're not too coarse.
00:39They're not too heavy.
00:40They're more of a refined looking horse.
00:42And they seem to be horses that are, you know, very correct.
00:46Vino had a really good sale at July and I think that really set us up for rolling into
00:51Saratoga and then rolling into the Keeneland sale because people kind of got a look at
00:56them, liked them, liked what they saw.
00:59We know the end users are going to love them.
01:01And Kenny McPeak buying three of them, you know, that was a huge stamp, you know, for
01:06the horse there.
01:07But I look forward to seeing what happens out here at Saratoga and rolling right on
01:11into Keeneland September.
01:15Vino Rosso, Money Madness Colt, who's going to Saratoga first night.
01:19He purchased him out of the November sale last year for $100,000.
01:24He was bred by Nobu Araki's Polo Green Stable.
01:28He's a half brother to a very good horse that Ellen J. Foxwood owns named Boardroom.
01:34To me, he looks very fast.
01:36I think we've, you know, dad, myself, really, and others kind of fell in love with his hind
01:41leg and this kind of attitude when he was a foal.
01:44And I feel like he's really progressed since that time.
01:46I'll say that in prep, he has been a workhorse.
01:49He just has really enjoyed exercise, he's enjoyed work.
01:52And so we hope that we're bringing a nice horse up there and that the buyers feel the
01:56same way.
01:59This is HIP 115, Vino Rosso Colt, out of a mare called War Relic, that's going with the
02:07Nolly Stud, was raised here at Elm Tree.
02:10He's been a very, very nice colt ever since he was born.
02:14He's just developed.
02:15He's a very kind horse.
02:17He does everything we ask him to do through the prepping process.
02:22And you hear that all the time, but he's a horse that's been a joy to be around.
02:27We're very proud of him.
02:28We think people will like him.
02:30He's very athletic.
02:32We think he's a special horse.
02:35We're excited about, you know, what the future holds for Vino.
02:39You know, if they have any of that curling, you know, blood running through them there,
02:43which they do, you know, just every time you look up every weekend, you see something,
02:48you know, from that sire line having success.
02:51So we're excited, you know, we'd been wanting a son of curling and, you know, when we had
02:56a chance to be able to acquire Vino and have Vinny and Mike, you know, stay in for a leg
03:01on the horse, you know, it was a no brainer for us.
03:05You know, it won't be that long.
03:06We'll be looking up and, you know, there's going to be Vinos in the two-year-old sales
03:09and Vinos going racing.
