Govt aims for 500 schools to be adopted by corporate companies, GLC, says Fahmi

The government aims to have 500 schools adopted by corporate and government-linked companies (GLCs), says Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.  Speaking at his weekly press conference, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim set the target during Wednesday’s (March 19) Cabinet meeting.  He added that the Education Ministry would oversee the initiative, with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) already committing to adopt 20 schools. 00:21In that meeting, the Prime Minister has asked for around 200 schools to be made into high schools.

00:40and the Prime Minister has said that 20 schools have been taken as high schools by TNB.

00:50All these efforts will be supported by the Ministry of Education or KPM,
