A man sustained burns on his left leg in a fire that destroyed a double-storey house in Kampung Mesapol, Sipitang, Sabah, on Tuesday (March 18) night.

00:00A man sustained burns on his left leg in a fire that destroyed a double-storey house
00:06in Sipitang on Tuesday night.
00:08Sipitang Fire Station Chief Joe Jeefery said five firefighters were dispatched to the scene
00:14after receiving a distress call at 9.12pm.
00:18Upon arrival, they found the house engulfed in flames.
00:22Firefighters used a one-line, two-jet system from the fire engine and a portable pump to
00:27draw water from a nearby river to douse the blaze.
00:31The fire was brought under control by 9.56pm and operations concluded at 11.40pm.
00:38Police and Sabah Electricity assisted in the operation.
00:42The injured 30-year-old man received initial treatment from a medical team.
00:46Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and the total losses incurred.
