00:00My dear detective, today you'll have to deal with the Mafia.
00:05You're gonna need all your thinking and analytical skills and the power of deduction.
00:11Concentrate and let's start!
00:13Look at these two couples.
00:14The one on the left is wearing outfits that must've cost them a pretty penny and they're
00:19eating lobsters.
00:21If you look attentively, you can also spot a few scars on their faces.
00:26As for the other couple, the man and woman have similar tattoos on their necks and keep
00:30their bags in their laps under the table.
00:34Your task is to figure out which couple belongs to the Mafia.
00:47It's the couple on the right.
00:49Can you see several passports peeking out of their bags?
00:53They're probably hiding behind false identities and are ready to escape at any time.
01:00Accused of stealing some chickens from a farm, Jack was locked up in an empty cell in the
01:05local jail.
01:07His cell had a dirt floor and a small window overlooking distant hills.
01:12There was nothing inside except for a shovel.
01:15Jack was determined to break out and prove his innocence.
01:19Unfortunately, the window was too high to reach, and digging a tunnel was not a feasible
01:24option since the ground beneath the dirt was rock-hard.
01:28Jack didn't have enough strength to dig through it.
01:30And still, he managed to escape.
01:33How did he do it?
01:45Jack used the shovel to make a pile of dirt, almost reaching the window.
01:49He then climbed the pile and got out of the cell.
01:54A woman named Kathy went to the police, claiming that someone had broken into her house and
01:59stolen her diamond bracelet while she had been at work.
02:04The police officers investigated the crime scene and noticed that the bedroom window
02:09was broken.
02:10There were muddy footprints all across the floor.
02:13Interestingly, the room was otherwise neat and organized.
02:17The following day, Kathy was arrested for fraud.
02:21Can you figure out why?
02:33Kathy was convicted of fraud because the bedroom window was broken from the inside.
02:39If someone had broken it from the outside, there would've been glass pieces on the bedroom
02:44floor.
02:45Also, the room was perfectly tidy when the police examined it.
02:49It can only mean that the so-called thief didn't need to search for jewelry since they
02:54knew exactly where it was.
02:58A detective, who was only days away from discovering the identity of a wanted gang boss, suddenly
03:05went missing.
03:07He left behind just one note with a few numbers.
03:10Currently, the police have three suspects.
03:13Their names are Bill, Lucky, and Greg.
03:17Can you crack this code and find the person responsible for the disappearance of the detective?
03:33It's Bill.
03:34If you turn the note upside down, it'll read, Bill is boss.
03:41A man and a woman enter a crowded room.
03:44They see many people they've met before.
03:47The man and the woman enter the room separately.
03:50But only when one of them comes in, music is playing.
03:53One more person speaks to each of them for some time after the two are finally together
03:58in the room.
03:59The crowd remains quiet for the most part of the process.
04:03They look pretty happy.
04:05But when the man and the woman are about to leave the room, they see that the crowd is
04:09now outside waiting for them.
04:12As soon as they spot the man and the woman, they start shouting and throwing food at them.
04:17What's going on here, and why does the crowd behave this way?
04:31The answer is simple.
04:33The man and the woman are getting married, and the food thrown at them is rice.
04:42Five people are sitting around a table, playing Mafia.
04:45Among them, there are two innocent citizens, two mafiosos, and one detective.
04:52The Mafia people know each other, the detective knows who each of them is, and the innocent
04:57people have no information whatsoever about anyone at the table.
05:03During this particular game, the innocent citizens and the detective always tell the
05:08truth, while the Mafia people always lie.
05:12They start by making the following statements one by one.
05:16A. I know who B is.
05:19B. I know who the detective is.
05:22C. I know who B is.
05:25D. I know who E is.
05:28Can you figure out who is who?
05:40Let's try to crack this riddle step by step.
05:43Person A is making an I know statement, meaning that they're either a detective or a mafioso,
05:49not an innocent citizen.
05:51If they were the detective, they would know who B is, a Mafia member or an innocent person.
05:58B could not be innocent, because then they wouldn't know whether A was lying or telling
06:02the truth.
06:03So then B must be Mafia.
06:06But if B were Mafia, then they would know that A is the detective, and thus they wouldn't
06:12be able to say they know who the detective is, because the Mafia always lies.
06:18So then A must be a Mafia member.
06:20Let's call them Mafia 1.
06:23Then A is lying and does not know who B is, which means B is either an innocent citizen
06:30or the detective.
06:32B makes an I know statement, so they must be the detective.
06:37Anyone could have figured this out, so now even the innocents know that A is a Mafia
06:42member and B is the detective.
06:45Thus C does know who B is, and since they're telling the truth, C must be innocent.
06:52Now we are left with one Mafioso and one innocent citizen.
06:57D knows what they themselves are, and thus knows what E is.
07:02Then the statement D makes is true, meaning D is also an innocent citizen, leaving E to
07:08be Mafia too.
07:11So A is Mafia, B is detective, C is innocent, D is innocent, E is Mafia.
07:22Look at this image very carefully.
07:25Can you crack the code the Mafia are looking for?
07:28A small hint, if you have such an option, try to view this image on your smartphone.
07:43If you look at the picture directly, you won't see anything special.
07:47Now take a look at it on your phone, holding it flat and looking diagonally over your screen
07:52from the side of the microphone.
07:55You're likely to see the words, the code is the outcome.
07:59If you turn your phone a quarter turn to the left, you will read, from 5 times 5.
08:06So the answer to this riddle is 25.
08:11After a day of sunbathing in the garden, Sofia decides to go home.
08:16She walks through all the doors once and closes them behind her back.
08:21Look at the scheme of the house and try to figure out which room is her bedroom.
08:35Let's see, Sofia was in the garden and decided to go to bed.
08:39It means she was outside.
08:41She could, of course, start walking in several ways, and this is just one of them.
08:46So the girl entered room A on the left side of the house, then turned left, and immediately
08:52went outside again.
08:54Then she entered room C, went back to room A, and then proceeded to room B.
09:01After that, she came back into room C. Then she went on to E, A, G, E, D, G, and F.
09:10And there she went out again.
09:14She walked around the house and then entered through the only door that was still open,
09:19namely the door of room B. Now all the doors are closed, and she can go to bed in room
09:25B.
09:26Well, how many people can you spot here?
09:44Five are looking at the paintings, and one person is hiding behind this picture.
09:48See their eyes?
09:52A man got kidnapped.
09:54He was placed in a room and told that if he managed to figure out the secret code,
09:59he would walk away unharmed.
10:02There was a plate with liquid poison, a matchbox with only one match, a glass, and a slice
10:08of lemon on the table.
10:11The code was written on the plate and covered with the poison.
10:15The man had to remove the poison to find out the answer.
10:18How could he do it if he wasn't allowed to touch or move the plate?
10:33That's what he had to do, and this is the code.
10:38That's it for today!
