Online streaming to be included in amendments to Finas Act, says Fahmi

00:00Out of the 10 things mentioned, there are some that can be done,

00:06some that need to be moved to the Act of Finance, the law,

00:11and some that may be a little challenging for us to implement,

00:17such as the penchain suggestion.

00:20In the current context, especially for those involved

00:27in the film industry,

00:30many of them work part-time,

00:36but when they have a job, they have a job.

00:38But when they don't have a job, it's easy for them to get an income.

00:46If we look at the golden era,

00:51such as Malaya Studios, KT, Jalan Ampas Studios,

00:57and System Studios at that time,

00:59it was possible for some things to be done entirely.

01:04But we know today, with the drastic and very basic changes,

01:11the way we watch, even if we call it a film,

01:14it's a bit anachronistic.

01:18No one shoots a film anymore.

01:20No one uses 35mm.

01:24Even today, if we want to say,

01:26the result of our work is sometimes not for viewing in cinemas,

01:31but it's also not watched on TV.

01:36In the middle of the country,

01:38the result of the work is only watched on mobile phones.

01:42This means that a lot of changes are happening in the entertainment world,

01:47in the film industry.

01:49Therefore, I have asked FINAS to investigate

01:53so that we can try to move to ACTA-FINAS

01:57so that it is more coherent with these drastic changes.
