00:00I think, like, I don't know if it's like the dark side of immigration.
00:08I think it's people who immigrate and then you have certain choices.
00:13And this is one path that we're basically showing.
00:16This is a story that's inspired from some true events.
00:19People like, you know, Mr. Chandan Arora and like our, it's our entire writing team and
00:27everybody, like, sorry, Sandeep, you know, they've taken a story that is so volatile
00:38and made it something so personal with characters that hopefully a lot of people can relate
00:43to.
00:44I think it's, when a person doesn't break from his roots and go to a new place, you
00:51know, be it a human, be it a plant.
00:55You see, if somebody migrates from a different state to another state, that's a very painful
01:03process or not everybody heals from that pain.
01:38But we always have choices and those choices come at a price.
01:43See, it's a very sensitive question.
01:51Racism is something, jab tak aap usko experience nahi kar sakte hai, you cannot really, really
01:57talk about it because yeh jin logon ke saath hui hai, unke experiences jab aap sunte ho,
02:07you really feel ki aisa kuch aap parde par leke aao to not only, wo gaya the na ki ek
02:14good side show karne ke liye bhi aapko pehle uska ek dark side dikhana hi padega to go there,
02:20usko justify karne ke liye and mujhe lagta hai ki kahe na kahe hum hamesha koi cheez
02:26dikhate to zaruri nahi ki wo audience jo hai usse ek negative thing leke jaye and you
02:31know they like wanna be like the villain in the series, they really wanna be the hero
02:39of the series also.
02:41So kahe na kahe yeh racism ya jo bhi cheez, ya jis bhi cheez ko humne jis bhi tariqe se
02:46dikhane ki koshish kari hai, wo kahe na kahe ek positive impact bhi daal sakta hai logon
02:50me ki what you should not do with the immigrants and what you should not do with people who
02:57have come leaving their homes behind, leaving their families behind for better opportunities
03:02and kitna unki life mein jo struggle hai, you start respecting them more and you start
03:06respecting them for their, either you call it colour, either you call it tradition, either
03:11you call it culture, anything.
03:18Kuch aise scenes hai jisme Nimma ka jo behaviour hai, wo bahut extreme mein hai and I think
03:24those extremes nobody has ever felt personally.
03:28So as an actor you try to derive certain experiences from your past.
03:33So I feel itne intense character ke liye aapke paas referencing points nahi hota hai, but
03:38uske liye aap us cheez ko reverse learn kar sakte ho, jaise kisi ki jitni badi chot hogi
03:47uska utna zyada dard hoga, toh agar aap dard ko nahi mehsoos kar sakte hai, aap chot ko
03:52mehsoos kar sakte ho.
03:53So I feel that the trauma or the tragedies or the unfair how life has been unfair to
03:59Nimma, toh uski jo pain thi usko samajhte hue I was able to bring out the anger or that
04:08resentment that Nimma would have felt.
04:11And I feel wo sare process mein humare directors, humare writers, our director, our writers
04:17and even our DOP was like fully involved in everything.
04:22I think our teams did such an amazing job, unhone humare liye wo perform karna itna real
04:28bana diya, that we didn't have to rely on our instincts.
04:33Hum jab kahi baar apne set pe jaate the, it was very much like a stage of a theatre play,
04:39like we would walk into a stage and the lighting would be done, the mood would be set.
04:44So I think that's the beauty of working with such intelligent and senior people who know
04:49their craft so well and who are more passionate than you and you get to learn from them and
04:54you, you know, they bring out the best in you.
05:02So it was kind of difficult, yes, because I am, I would say I'm totally opposite to
05:08a hopeless romantic.
05:10I am very, very passionate about love, mujhe bahut rishton ke bahut maine hain and when
05:16it comes to balancing in a series jahan pe jo aapka pyaar hai, that is just too, I would
05:25say just too aggressive and kahi na kahi ek bahut hi mujhe aisa laga ki mujhe iss series
05:32mein ek aisa character jisko mujhe sambhalna hai in terms of a rishta, wo itna hard hitting
05:39tha and itna zyada, kya sehte, kahi na kahi aap thoda sa saham jate ho, uske saamne aane
05:48se, aap usko address karne se bhi thoda dar jate hain and usko balance karna with your
05:53own survival and your own life struggles, wo difficult hai but jab aap ek Harleen ke
06:01us character ke crux mein jate ho, jab aap really Harleen ko samajhne ki koshish karte
06:05ho, then it becomes really easy kyunki kahi na kahi uski life ki journey, har situation
06:10mein balancing hi rahi hai, whether it comes to family, whether it comes to brother, whether
06:14it comes to love, whether it comes to her own career, kush bhi aap baat karo, toh wo
06:18balancing aur wo kahi na kahi main apni personal life mein bhi karti hoon because main sirf
06:24yeh nahi ab kehna chahati ki sirf ladkiyon ke liye hai, anybody jo ek dream ko pursue
06:29kar raha hai and it's a little difficult, ek bahuti, you know, ek challenging profession
06:35mein agar aap ho, toh definitely balance up karte hi aayo apni zindagi mein and humara
06:40toh career aisa hai ki humein professional aur personal life ko bhi udhar balance karna
06:43padta hai bahot zyada, toh yeh maine kahi na kahi jasmine se derive karne ki koshish
06:47kari and ussi cheez ko la ke maine ek mix kiya hai, ek blend kiya hai and I hope ki
06:53log jo hain usko bahut relate kar paayenge apni life se.
06:59For me all the music production really stood out because I come from a background of music
07:05and you know suddenly you, our reliance on the digital way of making music has become
07:12so much now, it's like suddenly now we are now trying to shoot how these guys would have
07:17recorded music with a more retro system, with more limitations, with jahaan pe ek ek note
07:25ko pakad ke singer ki tum aise baskali you can't just grab and you know drop it, raise
07:29it, no you have to do it over and over again, you make mistakes, so those are little aspects
07:33that you know enacting them were very different and we had a lot of fun with them because
07:41you've got these, it's not just one computer screen, you've got these like hundreds of
07:45these modules that you're playing around with and we had this little shed that we were recording
07:49music in and for us also like dealing with those cassettes and the LPs and it just became
07:56so much fun for us as musicians because we've not had, we've not got to play with them enough,
08:03I think by the time, I think we started producing music, so the whole show is based in 90s,
08:13so obviously we are, we were very young, you probably weren't even born, so I feel ki going
08:21back to the 90s and in this young age, it was like ki achha this is what it would have
08:27been, these were the cars that they would be driving, so that was very interesting and
08:32obviously with the outfits and the whole clothing, everything changed, toh humare liye wo time
08:38travel tha.
08:44I think people will love it because I think what Punjabi audience, jo wo pyaar dete hain
08:55apne artists ko, wo beshmaar dete hain and I think wo toh humari galtiyon ko bhi pyaar
09:02karte hain, so I think when there is a project where you put in so much heart and soul, aapne
09:09doh saal usko shoot kiya hai and you stuck around with it for so long, toh woh mehnat
09:13dikhti hai and I think after the trailer, everybody has shown us so much love and so
09:18much respect, I feel people in Punjab are looking forward to this aur hum bhi wait kar
09:23rahe hain ki unko aisa content, web series sab dekhte hain, OTT ko sab follow karte hain
09:30and I think log baat karte hain, zikr karte hain ki yaar koi naya show aaya, naya kuch
09:34dekha, so I think they look forward to shows and when they see a show of their demograph
09:40where you know they kind of see themselves in the show, they'll really love it, so I'm
09:46looking forward to the response.
09:52Bhaji agar jab Batman aati hai, Gotham mein shoot hoti hai ya Avengers ka jab New York
09:59mein koi building gir jati hai, toh I don't think Robert Downey Jr. ko New Yorkers kehte
10:05hogi yaar aapne New York ki building giradi, so I think this is a hypothetical scenario,
10:10this is not a real life story of anybody, neither this is representation of actual people
10:16in Canada, we toh haven't even shot in Canada for some of the parts, so I feel this is a
10:21hypothetical scenario and people are very mature these days, they understand ki yeh
10:26kahaani hai, yeh kahaani ko istaspora mein rakhe create kiya gaya, so I feel people watch
10:33content all the time, you know when we see certain Hollywood films, they have 5 different
10:38timelines jismein mara hua character bhi jeera hai, so I think people understand ki real
10:43life aur content are different now, so I think we are past that point.
