00:05has discovered the carcasses of three male loggerhead turtles on Chakar Forest Beach, Kerteh, within 31 hours.
00:13Pulihara field assistant Amira Hassana Azaman said the first carcass was found at 12.50 am on Friday
00:20during a routine patrol for nesting turtles.
00:23The second was discovered at 8.56 pm the same night, and the third at 7.20 am on Saturday.
00:31All three were found within a 500-metre radius.
00:35The first two turtles were sub-adults, while the third was a 97-centimetre-long adult.
00:42Examinations revealed the first two turtles had been dead for one to two days,
00:47while the third had been dead for a week, as its skin had peeled off.
00:51The cause of death for the first two remains unknown due to severe bloating,
00:56but the third likely became entangled in a stingray net, as indicated by marks on its shell and neck.
01:03Pulihara suspects irresponsible parties attempted to remove the turtle from the net.
01:08Pulihara has reported the discovery to the Turtle Conservation and Information Centre and will bury the carcasses.
01:15This marks the first recorded case of turtle deaths by Pulihara this year,
