00:00Free agency is in full swing and the team has already added key pieces to strengthen their

00:04defense, but one major question still remains unanswered. Will they bring back a familiar face?

00:10Leonard Floyd is available and a reunion in Chicago could make a lot of sense for both sides.

00:16It is a move that could bring experience, production, and leadership to a team

00:20looking to make a deep playoff run. To understand why this move would be significant,

00:25we have to go back to where it all started. The Chicago Bears drafted Leonard Floyd with

00:29the ninth overall pick in the 2016 National Football League draft. He was selected to be

00:36a dominant edge rusher, a player who could disrupt opposing quarterbacks and create chaos for

00:40offenses. Floyd came into the league with high expectations. He had an explosive first step,

00:45incredible athleticism, and the ability to line up in multiple positions.

00:50The Bears envisioned him as a game-changing force on their defense.

00:54Early on, Floyd showed flashes of brilliance. As a rookie, he recorded seven sacks and made plays

02:21The following year, Floyd was a key part of the Rams defense that won Super Bowl 56. He continued

02:27to be a consistent force, recording back-to-back seasons with at least nine sacks. He played

02:32alongside some of the best defensive players in the league, including Aaron Donald, and he thrived

02:38in that environment. It became clear that Floyd was not a bust. He just needed the right system

02:43and the right coaching to unlock his full potential.

02:47After his successful run with the Rams, Floyd spent a season with the Buffalo Bills.

02:52Even in a new environment, he continued to produce at a high level. Then, in 2024,

02:57he joined the San Francisco 49ers, playing alongside elite defenders like Nick Bosa.

03:04Despite changing teams multiple times, Floyd remained one of the most reliable pass rushers

03:09in the National Football League. Since leaving the Bears, he has never had a season with fewer

03:14than eight and a half sacks. That kind of consistency is incredibly valuable.

03:19Now, he is a free agent again, and the Bears have a need at pass rusher.

03:23This creates an interesting situation. Chicago already has Montez Sweat as their top defensive

03:27end. He is a dynamic playmaker who can disrupt offenses on his own. They also recently signed

03:33Deo Odoyingbo, a young and talented pass rusher who adds depth to the defensive line. But in the

03:38National Football League, you can never have too many pass rushers. The best teams are the ones that

03:43can generate pressure from multiple spots. Adding Floyd to the mix would give the Bears even more

03:50firepower. One of the most important factors in football is getting pressure on the quarterback.

05:30preferences on where he wants to go. At this stage in his career, he may prioritize joining a team

05:36that is ready to compete for a Super Bowl. But if the Bears are serious about making their defense

05:41as strong as possible, this is a move they should strongly consider. At the end of the day, this is

05:47about winning. The Chicago Bears are building something special. They have a young quarterback

05:51in Caleb Williams who is expected to be the future of the franchise. They have an offense that is

05:55improving with each passing season, but to take the next step, they need to have a dominant defense.

06:00Adding Leonard Floyd would help them get there. It would be a chance for him to come full circle,

06:05to show that he is the player the Bears always believed he could be. So now we wait and see.
