Meta gets big win in case over new tell-all book

00:04written by a former employee.

00:06The tell-all memoir by Sarah Wynne-Williams, entitled Careless People, was released on

00:11March 11.

00:13It chronicles her six-year tenure with the company and details several unflattering allegations.

00:18Meta pushed back against Wynne-Williams and the book's publisher, claiming this is a mix

00:22of out-of-date and previously reported claims about the company and false accusations about

00:27our executives.

00:28The company also says the book violates Wynne-Williams' non-disparagement terms of her severance agreement.

00:34The arbitrator in the case sided with Meta, saying the company would suffer immediate

00:38and irreparable loss.

00:40He also sided with Meta on the grounds of the non-disparagement agreement.

00:44Some of the details of the book include allegations of sexual harassment by a high-ranking company

00:49official, as well as Meta's attempts to break into the Chinese market, including ways it

00:53would try to appease the Chinese Communist Party.
