00:00People question. Thank you, Mr. President
00:03Greenland
00:04What is your vision for the potential annexation of Greenland and getting the potentially?
00:10Well, I think it'll happen and I'm just thinking I I didn't give it much thought before but I'm sitting with a man
00:18That could be very instrumental. You know mark we need that for
00:21international security not just security international
00:24We have a lot of our favorite players
00:27Cruising around the coast and we have to be careful and
00:31We'll be talking to you. It's a very appropriate really a very appropriate question
00:37So the Arctic so what you did so when it comes to Greenland, yes, or not joining the u.s
00:41I would leave that outside for me this discussion because I don't want to direct NATO in that
00:47But when it comes to the high north in the Arctic, you are totally right
00:50The Chinese and are using these roots. We know that the Russians are the army. We know we have a lack of
00:56icebreakers
00:57so the fact that the seven
01:00Outside Russia or seven Arctic countries working together on this
01:03Under US leadership is very important to make sure that that region that that part of the world stays safe
01:08And and we know things are changing there and we have to be there
01:12And election there the other day
01:14Do you see a referendum a plebiscite where the people of Greenland would be in a position to decide?
01:21If they want to become part of the United States, yeah, it was a good election for us as you know, it was
01:29Not a referendum. It wouldn't be called that it was an individual election
01:33but the person that did the best is a very good person as far as we're concerned and
01:39So we'll be talking about it and it's very important
01:43Mark mentioned the word icebreaker. So we've ordered we're in the process of ordering 48 icebreakers and
01:51Canada wants to know if they could use them. I said, well, you know, you got to pay for them
01:55Think of it Canada we pay for their military, you know, Canada pays very little for their military because they think we're going to protect them
02:03but even with the icebreakers, so we're going to order 48 and
02:07Canada wants to be part of the deal. I say you got to get your own icebreakers
02:11I mean if you're a state you can be part of the deal
02:14But if you're you're a separate country, you've got to get your own icebreakers
02:18Russia as you know has about 40 of them and we have one big icebreaker
02:23But that whole area is becoming very important and for a lot of reasons the routes are, you know, very direct
02:31to Asia to Russia and you have ships all over the place and
02:36We have to have protection
02:38So we're going to have to make a deal on that and Denmark is not able to do that
02:42You know Denmark's very far away and really has nothing to do
02:46I what happens a boat landed there 200 years ago or something and they say they have rights to it
02:52I don't know if that's true. I'm not I don't think it is actually
02:55But we've been dealing with Denmark. We've been dealing with Greenland and we have to do it. We really need it for national security
03:01I think that's why NATO might be have to get involved in a way because
03:06We really need Greenland for national security. It's very important
03:10you know, we have a couple of bases on Greenland already and we have quite a few soldiers and
03:16Maybe you'll see more and more soldiers go there. I don't know. What do you think about that Pete? So
03:22Don't answer that piece
03:24Don't answer that but we have we have bases that we have quite a few soldiers and green
