00:22The Commission on Elections responded directly to the statement of Vice President Sara Duterte that the Filipinos are being careful about the possible mercy during this time of election.
00:34According to COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia, he assures the Vice President and the people that there will be no mercy in the election.
00:45We are assuring everyone that there will be no mercy in the minds of the people.
00:52The Commission is assuring that our election will be transparent so that we can increase the integrity of our election.
01:00COMELEC added that the machine that will be used now and whoever wins here based on the election returns will be the one to proclaim.
01:12We did the statement of our good Vice President, but the guarantee of your Commission through your Chairman is that there will be no mercy in the election
01:23and we will prove that through the use of new technology but open and transparent.
01:31The one who will proclaim will be known as the one who should proclaim in this election.
01:38Meanwhile, COMELEC ruled that even if the former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested and brought to The Hague, Netherlands
01:45to face his case in the International Criminal Court, he will still remain a candidate for mayor of Davao City and will not leave his name in the ballot.
01:55As far as the COMELEC is concerned, he is still a candidate. His name is in the ballot and our countrymen will vote for him.
