00:00I do think that there is some concern about what effects this will have on prices of every
00:05kind of product, but right now I'm urging calm and let's see how this plays out because
00:11I think the President's on the right track in terms of making sure that America really
00:17has the best seat at the table.
00:18What about all the uncertainty that it's creating?
00:20Uncertainty's never good for anybody, and so I hope the President will take this week,
00:24if I was going to say anything to him directly, to sort of calm the waters and tell us the
00:33direction.
00:34We know the direction he wants to go, it's just when and if, when he thinks this will
00:41settle.
00:42I think the Trump administration rightly takes the view that we've been on the receiving
00:47end of a lot of provocative trade activity over the years, and it's time America fires
00:55a shot.
00:56That said, I've called for more clarity to be brought to individual tariff lines so that
01:02our farmers and manufacturers know how long this is going to last, what exactly the tariff
01:08structure is going to look like, and that's really important that we have certainty.
01:13My hope would be that we can negotiate a positive outcome to some of these tariffs as well,
01:19as opposed to keep them where they are initially.
