00:00Thanks, Andy.
00:04Last week, we celebrated President Trump's countless victories for the American people
00:08during his joint address to Congress.
00:11This week, Congress must pass a continuing resolution so the American people can continue
00:17to enjoy win after win after win.
00:21This is the way forward, but unfortunately, Democrats in Congress would rather throw temper
00:27tantrums fueled by their hatred for President Trump than keep the government open and working
00:33for all Americans.
00:35Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries came out against RCR, as our conference chair mentioned, before
00:41the text was even released.
00:44And now, the only way to defend his nonsensical position is to fearmonger and spread outright
00:51lies about the bill's contents.
00:54Jeffries says RCR cuts nutritional assistance and veterans' benefits.
01:00In fact, RCR increases spending in those areas.
01:05He also said it does nothing to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
01:10In fact, RCR does protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
01:16And it does all of this while keeping overall spending below current levels.
01:21His lies are shameful.
01:24Congressional Democrats have made it clear where they stand, and it is not with the American
01:29people.
01:30Remember, a vote against RCR is a vote to shut down the government and strip resources
01:36from service members, veterans, vulnerable children, the elderly, and many, many more
01:43Americans.
01:44But don't just take my word for it.
01:46It's the same message Democrats have preached for years.
01:49Today, House Republicans will pass a responsible CR to keep the government open and to ensure
01:55American communities are taken care of.
01:57Will any Democrats join us, or will they continue to put their hypocrisy on full display?
02:04We're going to see.
02:05With that, I turn it over to our leader, Steve Scalise.
