00:00Hello, good evening everyone, good evening and welcome to SansFilm and SansFilm's Music Room.
00:24Some of you know and are familiar with SansFilm. SansFilm is primarily a film studio, so workspace.
00:31We've always had a history of having a very nice relationship with music.
00:37But during the lockdown it gave us the sort of impetus to create the Music Room,
00:45which is an opportunity for musicians. At the time there was no venue available at all,
00:50but they could come here, perform and we could use the facility of the studio to stream live events during the lockdown.
00:57And we did lots of concerts during that period.
01:00And now we wish to continue this project, but now we've got the benefit of you, the live audience,
01:06who's joining the online audience. So those events are actually quite complicated to set up
01:11because there is a live audience and there's a lot of people on YouTube and Facebook and websites and everything watching.
01:18And so it makes the audience watching, it's not just you 30, 40 people here tonight,
01:24but it's also all the people who are online and who are joining us.
01:28So welcome to everyone. As you know, we don't charge, I mean, we are not, because we're not a venue,
01:36we don't have a fixed price ticketing policy. In fact, the notion of putting a fixed price on something
01:43is cultural or artistic is slightly nonsensical. So we do nominal price for the in-person sitting
01:53and online is completely free. But we do have costs. And so we do welcome donations.
02:00During the lockdown, we had a lot of support, a lot of people helped us deliver art and culture for free, effectively.
02:09I mean, we don't, it's not free, it's just available. And that's the important thing.
02:13And some people contribute to that. And we thank enormously all the supporters who've made it possible.
02:20And tonight is, in a way, is no exception. So all the people online, as well as people here,
02:24you are more than welcome to make donations to support our endeavour and our continuation, which we will continue.
02:32So the one thing, the last thing I have to say is, as you can see, there is a grand piano here.
02:38And this is the first, this is the first time, the first concert, where we have a grand piano at Stan's Films.
02:44It's not our piano. We are babysitting the piano. Is that? No, maybe not, by the mean.
02:51We are looking after it while the owner is away somewhere in the world.
02:55He may never come back, but I think if he comes back, he will reclaim his piano.
03:01But I thought that was the opportunity to set up a whole series of concerts
03:08which will make use of the specific sound, specific quality of a grand piano,
03:13which we normally can't do, but which we, at the moment, have the luxury of having.
