Blackpool boss reflects on victory over Barnsley

Steve Bruce looks back on Blackpool's 3-0 victory over Barnsley.

00:06You always think that, because as I've said many times, you're only as good as where you are on both boxes.

00:16But we got there in the end, thankfully, and as I said, it was a really well-earned victory.

00:26Could it break down on something of a mental barrier that you've done it now,

00:29you didn't take your chances but you've carried on stopping them?

00:31Well, I don't know what mental, look, it's a game of football.

00:33A lot of it is mentality.

00:35If you're confident and you're playing well, team's winning, then it's an easy game.

00:40You start questioning yourself when you don't win and especially them draws at home,

00:45that period of time where we just had another one worth, you know, nine on the spin or whatever it is,

00:51you know, is unfortunately just far too many.

00:54What do you say to Sonny at half-time after the conclusion?

00:56Keep going and keep getting there.

00:59As I said, Sonny, I thought he was excellent today and his attitude was terrific.

01:03Yeah, real resilience to keep getting yourself.

01:06Look, it's not easy to keep getting there when you've missed the chances he had

01:10because he knew he could have scored six today, couldn't he?

01:14I mean, the three, four chances, you'd expect him to take them but obviously he didn't.

01:18You made five changes in the second half.

01:20Were they all just giving people a reaction?

01:22Yeah, that was in my mind.

01:24We played Tuesday again, kind of had a bit of freshness to it.

01:28Obviously, Adele's got a bad cut on his eye.

01:31He's alrighting himself, perfectly OK, but he did great for that goal, he was brave.

01:38And we'll see how he is on Tuesday, but he's got a lot of stitches and a nasty cut.

01:44I'm guessing Sonny Silva was OK, maybe bench.

01:47Was that ankle problem at all?

01:48Yeah, he was OK.

01:49Maybe not 100 per cent, but he was OK, declared himself fit.

01:52The only one who didn't was CJ, but we don't think that's too bad.

01:57How long do you reckon CJ will be on the start line in Zone 5?

02:00I think he could be back for next week.
