00:33The leader further asserted the talks left a positive impression, although Washington

00:37has just focused on releasing Israeli hostages, namely those with US citizenship.

00:43In this context, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt confirmed that the Trump administration

00:48engaged in direct talks with Hamas, saying the discussions align with US interests.

00:54The encounter, facilitated by Qatari intermediaries, has been the first ever since 1997 and breaks

01:01the US rule of not engaging in direct talks with those that Washington labelled as terrorist

01:07groups, as is the case of Hamas.

01:13The United Nations lately warned of impeding food shortage in the Gaza Strip.

01:19The United Nations alerted that current food stocks will just supply less than two week

01:23operations of bakeries and kitchens, posing at risk the food security of thousands of

01:28people.

01:29The entity noted that it may be necessary to reduce the size of rations to cover the

01:34needs of more people, and to fuel available to maintain bakeries and food transport.

01:40Meanwhile, the Palestinian Health Ministry's latest briefing accounted Israeli offensive

01:45against Gaza Strip for over 48,440 deaths and 111,845 injured.

01:59The Children's Fund and the United Nations World Food Program warned about the crisis

02:05facing the population of Gaza after Israel's decision to prevent humanitarian aid from

02:10entering the territory.

02:11In a statement, UNICEF said that if medical supplies are not delivered to the territory,

02:17routine vaccinations will stop, which will have a severe impact on children.
