00:02Older people and children are more likely to be affected by heat-related illnesses,

00:07including heat stroke.

00:09With this, the Department of Health or DOH advises the public to take necessary precautions.

00:14Our Bien Manalo has the story.

00:18Senior citizens are one of the most affected by the extreme heat.

00:22Just like 74-year-old Leonela, she had a number of strategies to avoid heat stroke,

00:27especially when selling ice cream outdoors and under the sauna.

00:43Eduardo also has another strategy to mitigate the heat,

00:46especially since his grandson was rushed to the hospital due to the extreme heat.

00:58In addition to drinking water, the Philippine Medical Association is also warning senior citizens
