00:00I'm pretty proud of what I've done.
00:03I haven't seen anybody who's done exactly the same thing.
00:06This car is fully in your control.
00:30This is my 2006 Corvette C6 and it's a full-scale remote-controlled car and I like it a lot.
00:39This is 34-year-old computer technician Bjorn Harms.
00:43He's built a full-sized remote-controlled Corvette that wouldn't look out of place in the latest Bond film.
00:52My first idea of building a full-sized remote-controlled car was by watching Back to the Future when I was a little kid.
00:59And I always had this idea of, man, when I'm older and I get my first car, then I want to try to make my own full-scale remote-controlled car.
01:07And that's what I did.
01:11The Corvette is road-legal and even my daily driver.
01:16Two years ago I bought a Corvette C6 and I came up with this idea to make it full-scale remote-controlled.
01:24So I had to make a universal motor controller so I could control different types of motors that I've attached to the controls of the car.
01:32I control the car with my four-channel transmitter.
01:36It controls the braking, the gear changing, the throttle and the steering.
01:41Building the universal motor controller took me around one year.
01:45Then it took me around three months to make a prototype system.
01:49And it took me another three months to make a system that was also safe enough to use.
01:54I also made a fail-safe system, so that means if the car gets out of range of my transmitter,
02:24the brakes start braking automatically.
02:34The engine is a V8 6-liter. It has around 404 horsepower and the top speed is close to 300 kilometers an hour.
02:45Technically it could go that fast remotely, but highly unwisely.
02:54The first time I drove the car I felt pretty scary because I was a little bit nervous on would it actually work properly.
03:05But after testing it, it worked better than I thought.
03:11Most people are very excited and they actually love the project.
03:16But there are also a lot of people that think it's crazy and of course a little bit dangerous.
03:24The entire RC process costs around 3,500 euros.
03:30Give or take.
03:31Well, the Corvette values right now is around 30,000 euros.
03:36Even with the remote control system.
03:38I would consider selling it, but mainly so I can start another project again.
03:43I'm pretty sure there's no other Corvette in the world that controls like this one.
03:50I am very proud of what I have done.
