00:00The number three premature death in Malaysia is cancer and of course going by the ranking
00:16you have breast other than colorectal and then closing closely is lymphoma
00:25and lymphoclostis. I don't forget the lymphoclostis. This is the reason why as said by Dr. Murali
00:32that each and every cancer patient faces a challenge of almost given a life or a death
00:46sentence. Once upon a time it was looking more like that.
00:50It's more like a death sentence. Once upon a time it was almost like that. Even now.
01:12We are ourselves a cancer survivor or one in a family. It's enough. It's enough to overwhelm
01:30the whole family and the emotion beside the financial impact is truly overwhelming.
01:38The cancer today is a disease that is a big challenge in causing premature death. And
01:50this death, we are cancer, constitute the third killer in Malaysia. And I want to immediately
01:58conclude that precisely because of that, in dealing with this cancer, I immediately conclude
02:04that I have already advocated and I want to take health care approach and that is preventive,
02:18promotive, predictive rather than curative and reactive. This is the long health initiative
02:36in Malaysia where we want to advance transformation. We want to champion this in terms of prevention
02:48and awareness. And we really hope that you will be presenting this. At the global level,
02:58Malaysia is bringing the resolution of the World Health Organization, WHO, and 14 other
03:08countries that support this long health initiative. Lung is the most vulnerable, often time insulted
03:16organ that is exposed to not only smoking but also environmental and occupational hazards.
03:28It's a difficult one to face it.
