00:11The Philippines and Palau strengthened their cooperation

00:16with the visit of Palau President Sir Angel Whips Jr. in Malacanang today.

00:21The Philippines and Palau signed three agreements

00:25with Whips' official visit to the country

00:27as well as the cooperation in fishing,

00:30which aims to protect the rich seas

00:33and to stop illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.

00:38The diplomatic note for the study visit of Palau

00:42was also strengthened in the training institutions

00:44for the fishing and research facilities of the Philippines.

00:48The Memorandum of Understanding on Policy Consultations was also signed

00:53that strengthened the mechanism of exchanging views

00:57on bilateral and regional cooperation.

01:01I reaffirm the Philippines' commitment to working closely with Pacific nations

01:05in charting the future of the Pacific

01:07and our unyielding support to efforts to advance the resilience of our Pacific kin,

01:13which at the heart of the Philippine-Pacific Initiative.

01:17The bilateral meeting of the two leaders

01:21in the assistance of the Philippines and Palau

01:23in the face of the current geopolitical challenges,

01:27especially the threat of climate change.

01:30President Whips emphasized this type of assistance

01:34in the role of Surgeon Fish,

01:36who eat alone,

01:38but work together to form a group

01:41to protect each other in times of danger.

02:49in the Indo-Pacific region.
