00:00American actress Olivia Munn recently opened up about the difficult experience she faced

00:06on a movie set, describing it as traumatic.

00:10Speaking on the podcast of Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky, the actress shared that she

00:14had to report certain issues to the film studio.

00:17However, what followed was an unexpected offer, a seven-figure settlement in exchange for

00:23signing a non-disclosure agreement.

00:25Despite the lotsum, Olivia chose to walk away.

00:29I had to file complaints with the studio, and there's a lot of other little things

00:33that go along with it, but it got to this place where I was offered a lot of money,"

00:38she explained.

00:39Seven figures to accept, I guess, their apology and them taking acknowledgement of it.

00:44But it came along with an NDA.

00:47The actress shared that this incident took place during the height of the MeToo movement,

00:51a time when many people were being criticised for signing NDAs.

00:55She feared that accepting money would make it seem like she was just staying quiet for

01:00financial gain.

01:02This was like the reckoning, the Harvey Weinstein reckoning that began it all, Olivia said.

01:07This was that time period, and this was when people were targeting anyone who signed an

01:12NDA, saying,

01:13Oh, you only did it for the money.

01:14So I was afraid that my voice and speaking up would just reverse any kind of validity

01:19to my voice.

01:22Although she met with lawyers, she knew almost immediately that she wouldn't take the settlement.

01:27I did not think about negotiating.

01:29I did not think about anything besides how disrespectful that was," she shared.

01:34Olivia also said she made it clear that she wanted to be the one to reject the offer.

01:40This isn't the first time Olivia Munn has spoken about problems in the industry.

01:45In 2018, the actress took a stand against a scene in The Predator after discovering

01:50that an actor in the film was a registered s**t offender.

01:54She fought to have the scene removed, despite facing pushback from others involved in the

01:58project.

02:00Looking back, Olivia stands by her decisions to reject the NDA even though she acted out
