00:00Also, Nadir Bumi, or REE, which is one of the four main advanced materials,
00:07besides graphene, nitinol, and polymer cellulose microhubble,
00:11which is focused under the HALA 7 technology plan,
00:14the advanced materials of the country 2021-2030 NAMTR,
00:20has high strategic value and continues to receive high demands,
00:24which has increased globally,
00:27especially in strategic sectors such as electronics, energy, and health.
00:32The importance of REE in modern technology
00:35has made it a critical component in supporting the competitiveness of the country's industry.
00:40For your information,
00:42the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation must play a role
00:46in the development of the REE industry in Malaysia
00:48by providing support to the current research, development, commercialization, innovation, and implementation of technology.
00:57The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation must lead the technical power of research, development, commercialization, innovation, and technology
01:03for the special task force established for REE.
01:07The main responsibility of the Ministry is to strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem,
01:12ensure the management of sustainable REE resources,
01:16and develop the capacity to meet the needs of this sector.
01:21It must also promote the development of new technologies
01:25to support the REE sector in a sustainable and competitive manner globally.
01:30To realize this information,
01:33it must take strategic steps through the following main initiatives.
01:39First, the development of the 7th State Advanced Technology Plan.
01:45The 7th State Advanced Technology Plan provides support for high-tech development
01:51with REE as one of the main drivers to ensure that Malaysia continues to advance in this field.
01:58Second, the establishment of the State Advanced Materials Consortium, NAMC.
02:02NAMC serves as a collaborative platform between government agencies,
02:07research institutions, and industries to promote the development and application of advanced materials in Malaysia.
02:14Third, the funding program for research grants through strategic funds.
02:19It must provide two types of strategic funds,
02:22namely the Strategic Research Fund, or SRF.
02:27Under the SRF, there are two types, one is the Applied Research Program,
02:30and the second is the Request for Proposal.
02:34With a funding of up to RM15 million for each project,
02:39this funding supports various levels of technology readiness, or TRL,
02:43and aims to accelerate technology innovation related to the REE industry.
02:48For your information,
02:51it must have met the requirements for a company based in Perak,
02:58namely Petra Perintis Sendirian Berhad,
03:00with a funding of up to RM15 million to develop this REE technology.
03:06Fourth, the continuous collaboration with stakeholders.
03:09It must continue to strengthen strategic cooperation with industries such as Petronas,
03:13Saim Darby, and Pro2,
03:15as well as academic institutions such as the University of Malaya,
03:18the University of Technology Malaysia,
03:20the University of Technology Petronas, and others.
03:23By implementing these initiatives,
03:25the advanced materials industry ecosystem,
03:27especially the REE industry, which is capable of high-tech and innovative,
03:31will be able to exist.
