00:00This trip was really about America telling India what they want.
00:07There was very little room for negotiation. There was very little ask from India's side.
00:18The way Indian media is showing is very different.
00:22Okay, so the real issues from the US side were first trade saying look we have trade deficit
00:35and we want to balance that and we're going to settle trade with everybody
00:40and you are no different. Of course your trade is small compared to others
00:46but we want to balance it. So we will increase tariff. We will call that reciprocative
00:59tariff. We don't know what that number is going to be yet. Details will be worked out
01:06but we want balanced trade and we want you to buy things from us.
01:12We want you to buy oil from us, gas from us and we want you to buy defense more and more
01:24whether it is fighter plane or anything else. So today if our trade is 190 billion,
01:33we want that to be 500 billion which is a good growth by 2030. That's only five years.
01:46So not only double it but make it two and a half times in five years is pretty ambitious.
01:57The question is what would that mix be? So one was trade. We can talk more about trade. Second
02:02one was immigration. Third was really defense purchase. Asia-Pacific, the rest of the stuff
02:14was not that critical. You can all lump that into technology, defense and all that.
02:24Those were the real issues and we can talk about this in a little more detail if you wish.
