00:03entertainment editor. Today we are at the premiere of Sukkur which is an Arabic
00:08musical. It's the first of its kind to premiere in this region. We spoke to the
00:12actors and they call it one of the most exciting phases of their career. We are
00:16at the real cinemas and we are hoping that this musical gets a great reaction.
00:20It was a long-awaited project and it wasn't it wasn't easy because it's a
00:24very risky venture because whenever you need to be backed by a very strong
00:29production vision you need to be backed by a very strong budget obviously you
00:32need to be backed by the right calibers to do this and you need to have you need
00:36to have factor X basically which is loving to make a musical. The whole
00:40process was tough including me myself included because you need to be very
00:45meticulous about when you're doing a musical every single detail counts and
00:49people sometimes they don't understand the thing but they feel it and this is
00:53very scary especially in the Arab world people you have they have very big
00:57hearts and they have very strong emotions and they can feel the vibe
01:00that's between the lines of the of the image and this is basically what you
01:04have to have in mind so the whole process was yeah what was basically we
01:08were not into cutting any corners regarding any of the details of the of
01:13the project and and and and that's why we we ended up having something that was
01:17not done before and something that's that we're really proud of and we hope
01:20the audience as well the product is based on daddy long legs honestly it's a
01:25secret but I haven't read the novel because for me I hate reading something
01:29that I'm about to shoot I need to have like fly with my imagination I need and
01:33be grounded at all so most probably I'm the only one who haven't read the story
01:37so yeah that's why I'm yeah I think it's gonna be my own version of something
01:42that I haven't read so it's a different flavor but I'm a big fan of all the
01:50Bollywood productions as well so yeah but but we're quite similar I mean in
01:54the Middle East and in India and and and and and the Far East we love to
02:00dance and we have to and we have we're very expressive and we love to
02:03express our emotions and we have to sing and so so be it runs in the blood so I
02:08guess this is a project that would be totally loved in the Far East as well
02:11this is a big deal because it's also a theatrical release yes after COVID
02:15getting a theatrical release is next to impossible
02:18well done you you must be so proud knowing that it will be seen by several
02:22millions you know perhaps of course this is something that I love it the
02:26more the audience I have the merrier obviously and I'm planning once it's out
02:30in the theaters I'm gonna like attend I try to attend in different countries to
02:34see the different reactions and how people are responding to it are they
02:37responding the way I was expecting or is it different this is a part of the
02:41learning curve right I was talking to the boy boy boy director Omar Hilal last
02:45week yeah he was telling me you know he's just happy to see Arabic cinema
02:49flourish is that what you're of course I'm very happy as well for for Omar and
02:54his and his son and I guess in the coming few years we'll be having a lot
02:59of very daring ideas and very daring directors trying to really do something
03:03different and I love the vibe and I guess that maybe maybe the COVID thing
03:09was somehow helpful because we had the time to think and re-manage and re-plan
03:14basically so I guess this is we owe the COVID a bit of credit here. I'm so happy
03:19so happy it's a big project I am very happy to be one of them cast and I wanna
03:32all people be happy from that. Tarek, Tarek he is the footballer he
03:39wants to be a big footballer and famous and he has another line he loves soccer
03:49it's a very very best line. You liked it? Yes. Okay brilliant and what do you want
03:56the message to be for this movie since it's the first Arabic musical? I want the
04:03children be happy from that and I want the children take the advice. The right advice? Yes. I'm so excited and proud of this project and it was like
04:21yeah it was like when I was a small girl you know when I was wearing the heels of
04:27my mom and doing you know something like this musical so I don't know I'm proud. What do you want the audience to take away from this movie? I don't know it's kind of entertainment and especially here in the Middle East we hope or I mean I hope to do more musical movies like this. I'm so excited to finally see it for the first time. I know tell me all about your role in this musical. So I play
04:57Najma. Najma is the very sneaky she's the snitch of the group she's one of the
05:02children but she's also a Ratiba's helper so it's a very nice role first time I
05:07play something like that so I'm very excited for people and to see the
05:11reactions and my reaction for the movie. Of course and it's such a big deal that I
05:15heard there was a musical coming. Yeah first Arabic musical. Did you audition for the role? I got picked. Yeah lucky me I'm so glad for this
05:26opportunity so thankful and inshallah you're gonna see more and more. Oh
05:30fantastic and do you sing in the movie as well? Yeah we do have some parts. Can you do a bit for us so that people know what to expect in the movie? I think I'll just keep it a secret for the movie so go Exe-Ket. How old are you? I'm 17. Oh my god it's such a young age to be on the Red Carpet. How nervous are you?
