00:00The MD asked me one Christmas to source some gift hampers for the staff,
00:03but there was no one in the market doing it.
00:06So I thought this was my light bulb moment.
00:08I sourced everything and produced the gift hampers myself.
00:12Well, that was the start of my entrepreneurial journey.
00:17I arrived in the UAE in May 1995.
00:21I was working as an executive assistant,
00:23and the MD asked me one Christmas to source some gift hampers for the staff,
00:27but there was no one in the market doing it.
00:29So I thought this was my light bulb moment.
00:32I sourced everything and produced the gift hampers myself.
00:35Well, that was the start of my entrepreneurial journey.
00:39And I set up Montreux Gifts Trading in November 2000.
00:42The culture of gifting is really big in the UAE,
00:45and it's a melting pot of many nationalities, cultures and religions.
00:49And there's a festival celebrated almost every month,
00:52whether it's Ramadan or Eid or Diwali or Christmas or Valentine's,
00:56there's something every month.
00:58In the past 23 years, it's really evolved and grown massively.
01:02There's always an occasion to celebrate.
01:05Gifting your family, your loved ones or your clients,
01:08it will never go out of fashion.
01:10So I'm really looking forward to the next years of continued growth,
01:15of spreading goodwill and happiness.
