00:00Hi, I'm Rabbi Mendel Kerstel. Together with my friend Muhammad Shapo, we're both chaplains with

00:06New South Wales Health. We're out here at Bankstown Hospital. We had the opportunity to meet up with

00:11the GM who reassured us that the hospital is here and committed as always to look after patients,

00:17no matter on their background, what they're feeling, where they came from. Everybody's given

00:21the utmost care in the proper way. It doesn't matter if they're staffed, if they're patients,

00:28everybody's looked after properly. And it's important for people to know that while we had

00:32an incident here, that is an incident, but generally speaking, people are committed to

00:38their care and they should be proud to say who they are, knowing that people, they will get the

00:43proper care. I'm Muhammad Shapo. I'm a student chaplain. I've been here 26 years and I'm very

00:51proud to be working with Rabbi Mendel for the last 18 years, or my thoughts, actually 20 years,

01:00in different hospitals. Our mission is the same. We never change. It's just holistic care for every

01:06patient here, regardless of the race or the religion, whatever it is. We are one people

01:14and we have to look after each other. There's no tolerance for any racial or discrimination.

01:21We are here to help and this is our goal first and promise. And we assure the community that

01:28we're always together for the goodness of the holistic care again, one more time.

01:34And we had an opportunity to have a walk through the hospital and meet staff and patients and,

01:39you know, they're friendly and warm and reassuring. And it's really wonderful, particularly at this

01:45time, to know that the health system is there with the community, with anybody who needs help,

01:51they will get the proper help.
