00:11In a recent podcast interview, Netflix chief content officer Bella Baggeria acknowledged

00:16the situation and shared her thoughts on how it has impacted the film's success.

00:22During an episode of The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast, Baggeria spoke about the

00:27controversy and expressed disappointment that it had overshadowed the work of the many

00:31people involved in the movie.

00:33"...I think it's really a bummer for the 100 incredibly talented people who made an

00:39amazing movie," Baggeria said.

00:41"...And if you look at the nominations and all of these awards loved that it's received,

00:46I think it's such a bummer that it distracted from that."

00:50The backlash has raised questions about whether Netflix will change how it evaluates actors

00:57When asked about this, Baggeria admitted that checking social media history is not a standard

01:03"...It's not really common practice for people to vet social tweets that way," she

01:38That movie is incredible and it's creative and it's fun.

01:42That's what you want.

01:43And it resonated with a lot of people this year," Baggeria said.
