00:00In a recent statement, the Federal Customs Authority highlighted what travelers from
00:07and to the UAE were allowed and prohibited to pack in terms of luggage, substances, commodities
00:13and cash sums.
00:14The FCA reminded us that permitted luggage includes movie projection devices, radio and
00:20CD players, digital cameras, TVs and receivers, personal sports equipment, portable computers
00:26and printers, and medication for personal use provided it complies with applicable regulations.
00:32Additionally, the Authority added that the value of gifts brought in with travelers should
00:37not exceed 3,000 dirhams and that cigarettes should not exceed the permissible limit of
00:42200 cigarettes.
00:44The Authority also said all travelers coming to or departing from the country should disclose
00:49any currencies, negotiable instruments, payable-to-bearer and or precious metals of stones valued more
00:55than 60,000 dirhams.
00:58Some of the prohibited and restricted commodities include narcotics, gambling tools and machines,
01:03nylon fishing nets, live animal of pig species, raw ivory, laser pens with a red package,
01:09fake and counterfeit currency, substances contaminated with nuclear rays and dust, publications,
01:15pictures, religiously offensive or immoral drawings and stone sculptures, as well as
01:20panned substances including betel leaves.
01:23The FCA went on to emphasize that travelers that are caught smuggling will be subject
01:28to a fine, imprisonment or both penalties.
