It’s being hailed as an architectural marvel and it’s easy to see why.

The Roman-style Khorfakkan Amphitheatre rises in semicircles, radiating outwards from the ground and going up into the Al Sayed mountainside where the waves of whitish marble-looking seating rows finally come to a rest. From the top, the amphitheatre offers sweeping views of the Khorfakkan Corniche. Given it is a stone’s throw from the shore adds to the analogy of waves. At first look, it almost seems as if the giant new feature has been carved out of the dark-brown rock and then given a generous splash of brilliant white.

00:00Khurfa Khan is now home to a stunning new amphitheater and waterfall attraction.
00:11More than 18,000 residents and visitors across the UAE have already been to the newly opened
00:16Khurfa Khan Amphitheater in Sharjah's eastern region to witness the screening of the period
00:21film Khurfa Khan.
00:22The ancient Roman-style theater is complete with deliberately unfinished slabs on the
00:27entrance columns, but the landmark also has high-tech features discreetly built in, such
00:33as a unique temperature control system that will allow activities to be hosted year-round
00:38in the hot summer and the chilly winter.
00:40The 19,000-square-foot amphitheater accommodates 3,600 spectators and can be used throughout
00:46the year.
00:47The theater is also home to a huge waterfall that's situated 43 meters above sea level,
00:52which starts from a natural mountain cave that is 45 meters long and 11 meters wide,
00:57descending from the mountain.
00:58We'd like to thank His Highness Sheikh Dr. Satam al-Muhammad al-Qasimi for this great
01:05project.
01:06This is one project that will help us balance between the city of Sharjah and the cities
01:11of the east coast of the Emirate of Sharjah.
01:14We in Sharjah are very keen on the cultural aspect of events, and with this great amphitheater
01:21we'll have another extension to those activities here in the east coast.
01:25This is a new project, it holds more than 3,500 seats, we'll be having a lot of events
01:32here.
01:33We'll start with the main event on the 31st of this month with Hussain al-Jasmi and Angham,
01:39and from there we'll take it with different activities that will balance between here
01:43and al-Majaz Amphitheater.
01:46The area is also home to a restaurant, a cafe, and a service room, and features outdoor seating.
01:51This new addition to the eastern UAE coast can also be used for business meetings.
01:55It can be accessed from the amphitheater by lifts as well as a walkway.
01:59The view from the amphitheater is perfect for photographs.
02:01Once there, you can see vantage views of the picturesque coastal city and its beaches.
