00:00Technology experts are urging the government to educate civil servants on the ethical use
00:07of artificial intelligence to curb its potential misuse.
00:12The National Tech Association of Malaysia and University Malaysia Kelantan's Nur Azia
00:18Ahmad both acknowledged that AI can be leveraged to improve public service delivery.
00:25However, they said there was always the potential for misuse, whether intentionally or otherwise.
00:32PCOM Chairman Alex Liu said the misuse of AI often stems from human factors rather than
00:39the tools themselves.
00:41He said conducting training on AI, as outlined in the National Guidelines on AI Governance
00:47and Ethics, should be reinforced to ensure responsible use.
00:52Nur Azia said the government should ensure that all AI decisions are explainable, traceable
00:59and auditable.
01:01Last week, it was reported that more than 400,000 civil servants have been granted access
01:06to AI tools powered by Google Gemini under an initiative of the Digital Ministry in collaboration
01:14with Google Cloud.
