00:00We like to think about this building kind of as a lab, a lab about Italy, Italy from
00:28the past, the Italy we all know from the renaissance onwards, but actually projected into the future.
00:35The lab is also about architecture.
00:37The whole pavilion plays with and engages with the circular economy.
00:42For instance, when you look at all the robes next to us, the facade is made of robes, and
00:46those are two million water bottles made of plastic turned into robes, and then they will
00:52also be recycled and reused tomorrow.
00:55Clearly the pandemic changed many things, but we are very happy that both Expo 2020
01:01in Dubai and the pavilion are really kind of a big sign about the world that is reopening.
01:07But you know what?
01:08The pavilion might even be a victim of its own success, because it won already a number
01:12of design prizes, and now they asked us to keep it here for six years.
01:16So everything was designed to be reused and recycled, but maybe we'll have to wait a bit
01:21longer before it happens.
