00:00All the president men and women in his handpicked dozen for the Senate showed up,

00:04spoke of their platforms, plans, and programs,

00:07and each made a case for why they deserve a seat in the chamber.

00:11And for good measure, the president hailed his choices for their diverse backgrounds,

00:15their integrity, and their track records in governance.

00:18Our Daniel Manalastas fills us in with the rest.

00:23From Luzon, the Alianza para sa Bagong Pilipinas Senate slate

00:27wooed voters in Visayas as they went to Iloilo today.

00:30Just like in Ilocos Norte, the 12 candidates in the Senate slate were all present.

00:35Pre-election-y senators told the audiences

00:37about their accomplishments in light of some of them having critics on their ability to perform,

00:43and their plans as well in case they win in the 2025 polls.

00:57Nag file ng 2,000 na panukalang batas, at nakapagpasa ng 343 batas na ngayon na napapakinabangan natin.

01:10Pinaglalaban ko din ang universal, pantay-pantay ng minimum wage.

01:17Dapat pare-pareho, Manila, Iloilo, Ilocos.

01:24Ako po ay nakapagsumiti ng panukalang batas na may git na 900 na batas,

01:32at nakapasana po ako na may git na isan daan na batas.

01:37While some re-electionists made suggestions to ease some burdens that our countrymen face,

01:43and also to address some challenges the country is facing in relation to the West Philippine Sea.

01:48Para bumaba yung kuryente, alisin natin.

01:53Alisin natin yung 12% bat.

01:58Sumasakit ang lalamunan ko dyan sa bat.

02:01Hawak-hawak ko po isang sulat, ibibigay ko kay Presidente Marcos mamaya,

02:06kung saan hinihiling natin magkaroon ng isang West Philippine Sea Command

02:12na magbabantay sa ating karagatan.

02:15Mga nanay, tatay!

02:19Sing pareho sa mga nanay, isa lang ang atong pangarap sa atong mga bata,

02:24ang maayo na kinabuhi, tama?

02:27While some comebacking senators promised to look after taxpayers' money

02:31and to help small businesses grow.

02:33Hindi magiging bantay sa lakay sa pambansang budget.

02:39Ang aking track record ang siyang magpapatunay

02:43na ako ay laging lumalaban lalo na sa pagbabantay

02:48at paggamit ng maayos sa ating pambansang budget.

02:53God willing, ako'y makabalik sa Senado.

02:58Sisiguraduhin ko na magkaroon ng funding, budget,

03:03itong dinatawag nating sustainable livelihood,

03:06livelihood program para sa mga Pilipino ng sagayon,

03:09mapalakas natin ang small-medium enterprises.

03:12Pag-iisahin ko ang Dangerous Drugs Board

03:15at saka ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency,

03:18gagawin nating presidential drug enforcement authority

03:22na kusa nakaharapin diretso ang problema sa prosecution,

03:27problema sa enforcement,

03:29at problema sa prevention at rehabilitation,

03:33hindi sabog.

03:34Meanwhile, some first-timers want programs

03:36that would benefit solo parents and single moms,

03:40while others, despite belonging to a millennial group,

03:42say their accomplishments speaks for itself.

04:10Some senatorables meanwhile told the people of Iloilo

04:28about their accomplishments in the local government

04:31and their plans in case they win in the 2025 elections.
