00:00First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos witnessed the success of the PASIG River Rehabilitation Summit.
00:10This is what Kenneth Paciente reported.
00:14In her visit to the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai,
00:18First Lady Luis Araneta Marcos praised the administration's achievements in improving the environment,
00:26especially the PASIG River Rehabilitation Summit that was made possible by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s inter-agency.
00:35Unfortunately, no one really took care of the river and its environs.
00:41And over the years, it has become a sight for sore eyes.
00:46It was polluted, dirty, stinky, and every other adjective you could think of.
00:51The First Lady also witnessed the signing of their agreement
00:54between the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Clean Rivers Organization of the UAE.
01:00Here, the UAE donated US$20 million for the continuation of the PASIG River Bigyang Buhay Muli Project.
01:08And now, thanks to the assistance provided by the UAE, especially Clean Rivers,
01:16which is an Earth-Zion initiative, thank you very much again.
01:20We just signed the MOU earlier.
01:25We will be able to clean our river and hopefully make it a showcase,
01:30much like the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok or the Sien in Paris.
01:35The First Lady also reiterated the importance of public-private partnership
01:40for the fulfillment of such initiatives.
01:43These are but three examples of how genuine cooperation
01:47between government and the private sector can help achieve change
01:52that is sustainable, meaningful, and inclusive.
01:57As I've always said, government cannot do it alone.
02:01We need to work closely with the private sector if we are going to make a meaningful change.
02:06The government's Love for All program was also included in the First Lady's message
02:12that can provide medical services to Filipinos, especially in remote areas.
