00:00The Philippine Trail Running Association, or FILTRA,

00:04has announced that they will strengthen their grassroots development program

00:08in order to enter the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

00:13Our teammate, Bernadette Tinoy, is surprised.

00:18The Philippine Trail Running Association, or FILTRA, announced that

00:21aside from the long-awaited competitions this year,

00:24the agency also plans to expand the grassroots program in the country.

00:28This is also part of the plan to make the country count

00:31in the upcoming 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

00:34We're launching something this year.

00:36It's going to be an exciting one across the Philippines.

00:40We've been doing it for two years already,

00:43and every year, we have about 100 youth participating.

00:48But this year, it's going to be bigger, more sustainable,

00:52and the scope will be wider.

00:55So, look forward to that.

00:57Meanwhile, athletes are still preparing for the Philippine National Trail Running Championships

01:04from March 21 to March 23 in Danau City, Cebu.

01:08Aside from this, FILTRA also plans to set up a training camp

01:11for the national team that will compete in the World Championships in September.

01:16They will be going around in different trail locations

01:20for a training camp to simulate the competition in September.

01:28It's going to be in Europe, and we're talking of Alps, big mountains,

01:34so it's really going to be a very challenging one in terms of altitude and the weather.

01:43In February, the 7th edition of the Mount Sembrano Mountain Run 2025

01:47is expected to be a success.
