00:00Hey, I'm Teddy Savage, National League Trainer at Planet Fitness and it is finally February
00:09guys.
00:10And after January that seemed like it was never going to end, that's good news right?
00:13And I know a lot of our fitness resolutions are so far off in the distance that we probably
00:18don't even remember what they were, but the good news is there's never a bad time in the
00:22year to stay connected to your fitness journey and February actually is a perfect time to
00:26prioritize your overall health and wellness because February is actually National Heart
00:31Health Month.
00:32The American Heart Association recommends that we all get at least 150 minutes of moderate
00:37aerobic activity in a week's time, but here's the thing, that 150 minutes does not need
00:42to be super intense.
00:43As a matter of fact, it could just mean moving your body and doing the things that you love
00:47to do, like exercise.
00:49You see, because exercise not only strengthens your heart, it increases the oxygen levels
00:54in your body, can help to reduce stress and anxiety while at the same time giving you
00:58the natural energy to power through the rest of your day.
01:02And in 2025, Planet Fitness is wanting us all to get stronger together.
01:07And a strong heart does not just mean cardio, it means also infusing your workout regimen
01:12with strength training.

01:28The Supine Bench Press is one of my personal favorites because it really targets your chest,
01:32shoulders, and triceps without putting unnecessary stress on your shoulder.
01:36The next one is a Plate Loaded Hag Squat, and let me tell you, if you know anything
01:40about a Hag Squat, you know it is probably the most dynamic lower body strength exercise
01:44you could do, bar none.
01:46And the last one is a Seated Plate Loaded Calve Extension, really good for targeting
01:49those calve muscles that help boost your balance and stability.
01:53So we're getting everyone stronger, no matter your fitness levels and our You Belong community

01:59So I'm a trainer, and I gotta give you guys some tips on how you can not only get strong,
02:03but have fun while you do it, okay?
02:05Here's tip number one.
02:06If it's good for you, it's great for you and your workout buddy.
02:09So make sure you bring your fit as many times as you would like in Planet Fitness.
02:13Doing so not only gets your workout to be from a routine, to something way more fun
02:18and dynamic, to something that you guys can do together with your accountability partner
02:23right beside you.
02:24Tip number two.
02:25I want to remind you that fitness is a marathon, not a sprint, so don't try to go too fast
02:31too soon.
02:32As a matter of fact, go at your own pace.
02:34Slow down and focus on form and technique over how quickly you can finish the workout.
02:39And then lastly, one of my personal favorites, make sure your playlist is funky and fresh
02:44and really mimics the energy of your workout.
02:47Doing so is going to give you the vibes, the energy, the power that you need to finish
02:51through those hard reps and difficult sets, and it kind of gives you a dance break in
02:56between sets, right?
