00:00A Day Before War, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, was due to release.

00:04Its lead actors, Hrithik and Tiger, told us not to give away any spoilers before the end of the movie.

00:11And while we are reviewing the film, please do not give away the plot.

00:15They had nothing to worry about because there's no plot,

00:17nor particularly riveting twist to really write home about.

00:21Directed by Siddharth Anand, this is an action caper filled with very good looking,

00:32supremely good looking pair, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.

00:35When it comes to casting, I think director Siddharth Anand has done a spectacular job.

00:41They play agents in the Indian intelligence services and one of them,

00:46that is Hrithik Roshan, who plays Kabir goes rogue,

00:50we are told, and Khalid, his junior and somebody who idolises him, played by Tiger Shroff,

00:57is reluctantly told to go and hunt him down, basically convert and reform the rakish agent.

01:05So, what we have is like a mentor-mentee relationship

01:10and although Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan are in spectacular form,

01:14when it comes to having the fittest bodies in Bollywood,

01:17I think both Hrithik and Tiger Shroff are the perfect players for this action caper.

01:24But the only problem is that they are not supported by a sturdy script.

01:29No matter how much you look into their sinewy muscles, there's no meat in there,

01:34except, I suppose, some washboard abs and to see some spectacularly timed explosions and stunts.

01:41What I liked about the film is also the fact that it also takes you on a globetrotting tour.

01:47Just like how James Bond movies in Hollywood take you to these spectacular locations

01:52and exotic locations where the super spy goes on a chase or goes on a trail of a bad guy,

01:59here we have both Khalid and Kabir doing the same.

02:03It's also spectacularly boring.

02:05I mean, if we wanted to watch some travelogue commentary, we would go for it.

02:10But otherwise, just to watch two men pummel each other and have blood seeping out of their bones after a point gets really boring.

02:19In fact, one of the biggest letdowns of this film is that some of the twists are ridiculous.

02:24In fact, towards the second half of the film, the first half is quite engaging.

02:27When you come to the second half, you realize that some of the twists are really ludicrous.

02:32And if you're willing to suspend belief and if you're able to keep the faith in both Tiger and in Hrithik Roshan,

02:39perhaps you might be able to swallow this bitter pill.

02:42Another thing that I thought of the two agents, it's Hrithik Roshan who plays a lot more mature and experienced agent.

02:50He's the one who shines when compared to Tiger Shroff.

02:54Bollywood folklore has it that Tiger Shroff idealizes Hrithik Roshan and considers him his idol in real life.

03:00And you can see that kind of admiration. It translates well.

03:03But I feel in terms of acting, it is Hrithik Roshan who shines when compared to Tiger Shroff.

03:09I wish there was some better storyline perhaps, you know, giving these guys momentum to push the narrative forward.

03:17So when it comes to a story, this really falls flat.

03:20And then there's Vani Kapoor, who is this perfect eye candy.

03:23While I was drooling at her washboard abs, when it comes to acting, she has very little to do.

03:28And she plays this acrobatic Indian dancer in Europe who's sent on a mission, who's set as a honey trap and sent on a mission.

03:37But she's not very wholly convincing.

03:40And the chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Vani Kapoor's character as Naina is not wholly convincing either.

03:46So when it comes to casting, that's the only stumbling block that I thought.

03:50Otherwise, it was great to see the boys, the very supremely good looking boys, pummel each other and have this face off.

03:59I've gone with 2 out of 5.

04:05If you're in the mood to watch Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff have a face off, perhaps this is the movie for you.

04:10And if you're looking at good, perfectly choreographed action sequences,

04:14because some of the best stunt directors from Hollywood and from India were brought on board,

04:22just so that all these explosions and these stunts done in various locations like land, air, water, you name it,

04:30and they have stunts set up there.

04:32In fact, the car chase sequences in the Arctic Circle is quite interesting.

04:36But again, how much can stunts and good looking boys really save the day?

04:42I'm not very sure.

04:44So if you're in the mood for an action driven movie with very good looking players,

04:51but no solid storyline, perhaps this is for you.

04:54Otherwise, the casualty are the viewers.
