We visit the Drake in Woodlands to meet the man who plays Navid on Still Game to find out his favourite spots across the city.

00:02So, first question, your favourite restaurant?

00:04Murphy's Pakora Bar, because it belongs to my cousin.

00:07But also, I'm going to say Crab Shack.

00:09Okay, why Crab Shack?

00:11Crab Shack, I've never been in there once.

00:13There's always a brilliant atmosphere,

00:15service is fantastic, food is on point.

00:18It's expensive, but not easily expensive.

00:21Never had a bad experience there.

00:23And what's your preference, Finiston or Hillhead?

00:27I think I like that Finiston is so cheap by jowl.

00:31You're basically eating off a plank of wood.

00:33There's a charm there.

00:34I love the way they made that work.

00:37So, I think Finiston, Crab Shack edges it.

00:39But they're both really good.

00:40Okay, favourite pub?

00:42Favourite pub?

00:43At the moment, it's The Rock in Highland,

00:46because they're always really friendly.

00:49It's the closest thing I've got to a regular.

00:52I mean, everyone doesn't know my name,

00:54although they probably know me as Naveed.

00:57So, it's not quite like cheers in that way.

00:58But, no, it's unpretentious.

01:01I wish it would serve food.

01:03So, there's a shout out to The Rock.

01:04Get your kitchen back on the go.

01:05But it's, like, you can go and watch the football there,

01:08the rugby, whatever.

01:09It's always really relaxed.

01:11A good crowd.

01:12And it's funny, because I'll go in there,

01:13I'll meet people, friends of mine,

01:15but also, like, my children's generation,

01:17they're drinking there now.

01:18So, it's just a nice family mix, I would say.

01:21Cool.

01:22Favourite coffee spot?

01:24I am a coffee demon.

01:26So, multiple favourite coffee spots.

01:29I'm struggling to think of what the best one would be, actually.

01:34I really like Cuckoo, which is just,

01:37it's around the corner from the house.

01:39But it's really, really good.

01:41So, it's like, and food's really good as well, actually.

01:45Yeah, Cuckoo.

01:46Favourite venue?

01:48Favourite venue in Glasgow?

01:50The Hydro was very, very good to us.

01:52And, you know, I played it nearly 50 times.

01:55So, I would probably have to include the Hydro.

01:58But the Barrellands is just, it's amazing.

02:02I think the last gig I went to see in the Barrellands

02:03might have been the Jesus and Mary Chain.

02:06And it was just the perfect venue for them.

02:09Perfect venue for everyone.

02:10You always know if you go and see a band at the Barrellands,

02:13you'll get an extra, kind of, 10% join,

02:17from the band and from the audience.

02:20Favourite building?

02:21Favourite building?

02:22I've got a very soft spot for the Kelvin Grove Art Gallery.

02:26I love the scale of it.

02:27It's absolutely massive.

02:28I love it when you come from Partick

02:30and you come round the bend, it's like that.

02:32Like, they're huge.

02:34And I have this weird fantasy whereby

02:37if aliens were ever to visit Earth,

02:40I always imagine that the Kelvin Grove Art Gallery

02:42is like the Transformers.

02:43Like, it would stand up and the turrets would come arms

02:46and it'll swipe the aliens away.

02:48But I know that's mental.

02:50And that'll never happen.

02:53But I love the scale of it.

02:54It's very Glasgow to me.

02:56It's one of the things I think that's iconic about Glasgow.

02:59No, I agree.

03:01Favourite band, Glasgow band?

03:03Favourite Glasgow band?

03:05Probably the Blue Nile.

03:08I think the Blue Nile.

03:11I love that they only made three albums

03:14and they're perfection.

03:18There are plenty of great Glasgow bands.

03:21Simple Minds I love, the Fratellis I love,

03:24Travis I love.

03:27And what's weird with being in Still Game

03:29is I meet these people and they love Still Game.

03:32Jim Carrey's a massive Still Game fan, which is fantastic.

03:36And I know the Travis boys, they're absolute sweethearts.

03:38I really like Snow Patrol as well,

03:40who I know the Glasgows claimed because they lived here.

03:43Franz Ferdinand are fantastic as well,

03:44but I think the Blue Nile led you.

03:47Favourite outdoor space?

03:49Favourite outdoor space in Glasgow, that's a good question.

03:53My dog walk, listen to me, I'm middle class, say dog.

03:57My dog walk is the Botanic Gardens.

03:59I've always had a soft spot for the Botanics

04:01because when my family first came to Glasgow

04:04we lived in Hillhead in flats before we moved to Bishop Briggs.

04:08So I've got vague memories of being a kid

04:11and going to the Kibble Palace

04:13and it being really, really hot.

04:15Not the Kibble Palace, no it is the Kibble Palace.

04:17And it being really, really hot

04:19and seeing these eels in the water and stuff.

04:21So Botanic Gardens has always had a special place in my heart.

04:25And your Glasgow hero?

04:27My Glasgow hero, I've got three

04:30and I'll put them in three, two, one.

04:33Limmy, Amanda Nucci, Billy Connolly.

04:35I think Glasgow is a city of storytellers,

04:39of very naturally funny people.

04:41I think they're all very funny in their own way

04:44but Billy Connolly's the governor.

04:47That thing that everyone knows

04:50and if you're from Glasgow you know it word for word

04:53an audience of Billy Connolly where he talks to,

04:55he does a set in front of really famous people.

04:57Have a custard cream, father, that's what they're there for.

05:00Best hour of comedy I think that's ever been made.

05:03So Billy Connolly's the governor

05:05but Amanda Nucci and Limmy are close behind.

05:08Fantastic, and then finally

05:10what does Glasgow mean to you?

05:13If I were to sum up Glasgow in an image

05:16it's your man, your Duke of Wellington

05:18with the cone on his head, right?

05:20I love that that's become so iconic for Glasgow

05:23because that sums up Glasgow.

05:25It's like, who do you think you are, Billy Big Bollocks?

05:27That's kind of Glasgow.

05:29I ken your dad, I know who you are.

05:31You might be successful but be polite, be gracious.

05:34Don't get ideas above your station.

05:36It can be sometimes a wee bit debilitating

05:38but for the most part quite grounding.

05:40So if a duke is going to wander into George Square

05:42he's going to get a traffic cone on his head

05:44because that's what we do here.
