First images of the 'black devil': a strange creature very difficult to film

The NGO Condrik-Tenerife has published the first images of a live adult black devil or abyssal monkfish, in broad daylight and on the surface, just 2 km off the coast of Tenerife. Valencian marine biologist Laia Valor detected this being on the surface, so biologists Marc Martín and Antonio Sabuco, and marine wildlife photographer David Jara recorded these images of the animal.
