00:00For the purpose of broadening the sport, the Association of Boxing Alliance in the Philippines

00:07or ABAP, Chairman Ricky Vargas, passed the Memorandum of Understanding as a partnership agreement

00:12between Asian Boxing and the Olympic Council of Asia or OCA.

00:17Vargas was appointed as a board member of Asian Boxing

00:21and it was included in the agreement of the OCA Director General, Hussein Almusalam.

00:27The collaboration of OCA and Asian Boxing is one of the steps of the federation

00:33for ASAM to maintain the presence of the sport of boxing in the Olympic movement

00:38and will serve as the basis for the World Boxing to be recognized by the International Olympic Committee or IOC.

00:45As of now, the sport of boxing is not yet included in the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

00:51However, World Boxing is already working to maintain the presence of their sport globally.
