00:00The Emirates Red Crescent has once again set up tents around the UAE serving iftar meals
00:10to people in the region.
00:12This tent near Sheikh Rashid bin Maktoum bin Rashid Mosque in Al-Warka can serve up to
00:161,500 people, and depending on the day, lineups will form at the entrance.
00:21The iftar package includes chicken biryani, a juice box, water, an apple, and some dates.
00:29Before breaking fast, people are offered the chance to have their vital signs tested as
00:33fasting provides the ideal conditions for having your vitals checked and will yield
00:36extremely accurate results.
00:39Among the services provided is blood testing, blood pressure checks, and height and weight
00:44measurements.
00:45About an hour before iftar begins, the Emirates Red Crescent travels to different locations
00:49in the area to distribute food and drink packages on site to people who can't make it to the
00:53tent.
00:55Due to the high rate of attendance, the Emirates Red Crescent says there is never any food
00:59wastage and people will be given seconds in the event that there are some packages
01:02left over.
01:04This noble initiative goes a long way towards helping needy people and reflects the thoughtful
01:08and compassionate spirit of Ramadan in the UAE.
