00:08top stories at this hour. UAE leaders joined worshippers across the country in performing

00:14funeral prayers over the remains of Emirati martyrs. Forty-five Emirati soldiers were

00:19killed while performing their national duty as part of the armed forces' involvement

00:23in Operation Restoring Hope, carried out by the Saudi Arabia-led Arab coalition to back

00:28the legitimate government of Yemen. The nation declared three days of mourning. Powerful

00:34explosions shook the Yemeni capital this morning, witnesses said, after the Saudi-led coalition

00:39vowed to press its air war following a rebel missile strike that killed dozens of Gulf

00:43soldiers. The witnesses said the coalition warplanes pounded positions of the Iran-backed

00:48al-Houthi rebels and bases of splinter troops loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

00:54Reports suggesting that Russia was planning to expand its military support for Syrian

00:57President Bashar al-Assad have prompted a warning from the U.S. that such actions could

01:01lead to a confrontation with coalition forces. The U.S. State Department issued a statement

01:07after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry called Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to

01:12express concerns over unconfirmed reports suggesting an imminent enhanced Russian military

01:17build-up in Syria. England became the first team to qualify for the 2016 European Championship

01:24by crushing San Marino 6-0, while defending champion Spain avenged a rare loss to Slovakia

01:29with a 2-0 victory yesterday. Wayne Rooney's opener from the penalty spot was his 49th
