00:00The results of Ecuador's first round of voting on Sunday showed that a greater number of
00:05cantons voted for presidential candidate Luisa González than for candidate Daniel Novoa.
00:10According to the National Electoral Council, CNE, González won 117 cantons, mostly in
00:17the coast and north of the country, while President Novoa's support was concentrated
00:22in the central highlands and two-thirds of the Amazon, for a total of 97 cantons.
00:28The Citizens' Revolution obtained more than 60% of the vote in 46 cantons, its greatest
00:34victory being in the province of Manaví, in the city of Jaramillo, where they obtained
00:4083% of the endorsements.
00:42On the other hand, candidate Leonidas Itza, representative of Paxacutic, won in seven
00:47cantons of his native Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, Cañar and Zamora, in the province of Loja,
00:53in spite of being in the third place.
00:58In this sense, the head of state and presidential candidate Daniel Novoa denounced Tuesday's
01:06irregularities in the scrutiny of the first presidential round in Ecuador.
01:10Novoa showed to have evidence of a possible fraud that prevented him from winning with
01:15a higher number of votes and explained the reasons why he did not celebrate nor made
01:20statements at the end of the election day on Sunday.
01:23The presidential candidate pointed out that according to his count, there have been data
01:28registered in several provinces of the country that contradicts the preliminary results by
01:33the Organization of American States.
