The Roads and Transport Authority, or RTA, continues to look for innovative ways to provide
00:15
transport to Dubai's residents and tourists.
00:18
The aim has always been to encourage more people to ride public transport.
00:23
The RTA's scope also covers marine transport such as Abra, the Water Bus, the Water Taxi
00:28
and Dubai Ferry.
00:30
The RTA says it is trying to make various key locations such as tourist hotspots more
00:35
accessible through public transport, including marine transportation.
00:39
It's available in different parts of Dubai, in Dubai Creek, it's available in Jumeirah
00:46
Beach.
00:47
Integration and connectivity are the main goals of RTA's urban and transport planning,
00:51
making it easier to transfer between different transport modes such as the Dubai Metro, Dubai
00:56
Tram, buses and water vehicles.
00:59
The marine transport is integrated with different modes of transport.
01:03
Let's take an example, Al Ghubaib Bus Station, which is here, it's integrated with, and this
01:09
station is integrated with Dubai Metro and Dubai Bus at the same station.
01:13
Last year, Dubai's marine transport hubs served more than 30 million passengers, making them
01:19
a critical component in the overall transport strategy of the Emirate.
01:23
So they can use the NOL card, the smart card, the RTA smart card, which can use it in all
01:28
different modes of transport and the Water Bus is one of them.
01:33
They can move from one place to another place.
01:35
Aside from the regular marine transport stations, RTA also operates special services in waterways
01:41
located near the Burj Khalifa and in Global Village.
01:45
The new hub is coming for Dubai and it will increase the ridership for the marine transportation
01:52
and it's a new kind of hub.
01:54
With milestones the RTA has achieved, it's putting Dubai on track towards offering a
01:59
truly world-class integrated transport network.
