00:00Coffee enthusiasts made their way to Skydive Dubai for the launch of the new Tim Hortons

00:16dark roast coffee.

00:18The crowd was treated to daring displays of aerial acrobatics and the lucky few won the

00:23chance to do a tandem jump.

00:25What's your name man?

00:26Shady.

00:27Shady?

00:28Yes.

00:29Before 15 years.

00:30Are you nervous?

00:31Yes.

00:32It's been a fascinating day launching the famous dark roast coffee.

00:37Why Skydive and Tim Hortons?

00:39Great question.

00:40I think the dark roast coffee is a strong, intense brew and we wanted something to synergize

00:47that with adventure and we couldn't think of anything better than Skydive Dubai to do

00:52this event with.

00:53So I'm here at Skydive Dubai for the new Tim Hortons dark roast launch.

00:57It's my second time doing this.

00:59I'm really nervous.

01:01I was really young when I did it.

01:02Me and four others are going up.

01:04They won the competition and I am lucky enough to join.

01:09So we're about to get suited up so let's do this.

01:12I was teamed up with my own instructor who fitted and secured my harness.

01:17Then we went through the steps and safety procedures where I was shown how to position

01:20my body for the big jump.

01:24It's heavier than I expected.

01:26It's kind of warm but I feel like this is just my nerves getting to me, maybe not the

01:30harness itself.

01:33I think my instructor Anouk, we're going to do this and it's going to be a lot of fun.

01:40Doing tandems every day is really like a gift.

01:44You take some person and you don't realize this person is just another jump for you as

01:48you keep thinking that this person is probably going to remember you for a long time as they

01:52only do it once in their life and they've been saving money for years.

01:57But for us, it's nice.

01:59Every person is reacting different.

02:01Some are really happy, some are really sad, some get really emotional, some get really

02:05hyper.

02:06It's really nice to see what people do.

02:09When you meet them, you think, oh this person is going to do this and they do it totally

02:12different.

02:13It's really cool.

02:14It's a nice experience.

02:17All suited up and ready to go, we made our way over to the tarmac and boarded the plane.

02:21It was such a mix of emotions as we ascended into the sky.

02:25I didn't remember the takeoff.

02:27I was so nervous boarding the plane.

02:30As we got higher, Anouk reminded me to take in the beauty of the skyline and palm.

02:35It was amazing to see the city from such a height.

02:45I'm feeling pretty good.

02:46I've got some sweaty palms, but I'm going to have to deal with it.

02:52You ready?

02:53Yes, so ready.

02:55The light went green and I watched the other jumpers fall and disappear into the blue sky.

03:01My instructor edged me towards the door and I surrendered myself to her control and then

03:07we fell.

03:10Those first three to four seconds felt like I was falling with my stomach in my throat.

03:15Then Anouk tapped me on the shoulder to spread my arms.

03:19The fear and panic turned into serenity and peace.

03:45Before I knew it, the parachute was open and we drifted gently towards the landing area.

04:16Well, I just jumped out of a plane, landed over here at the Skydive Dubai.

04:29It was amazing, terrifying on the way up, but jumping out of that plane is something

04:35else I've got to say.

04:37The experience left me with a new sense of accomplishment and eagerness to do it all

04:42over again.

04:44But even with my newfound bravery, I think I'll leave the stunts to the experts.
