00:00My website, The Dish, with two H's, the second H is for shh, has launched and it's a lifestyle
00:18website so I thought how could I not come to Dubai, having a lifestyle website that's
00:23hitting a million people this month.
00:25So this is this, I finally got here, finally made it to Dubai.
00:33I used to do PR when I stopped like four years ago, I've been looking for the right platform
00:38that would make sense, you know, I've been on reality TV for six years now and I've kind
00:43of become known for lifestyle and where to go, what to do, the hot places and my Instagram
00:50following has gotten so big and the biggest thing has been food on it and people love
00:54my food and celebrities, everyone, anywhere I go, people are like, you know, basketball
01:00players, you wouldn't believe the people that come up to me, they're like, yo John, your
01:03food's crazy, I can't even look at your stuff, it makes me fat just looking at it.
01:06I thought that it's time to kind of expand this whole thing with food so The Dish originally,
01:12you know, the meaning of it was like dish, like food and I started doing it, I said it's
01:16just not enough, I need to make it bigger, I fell in love with the whole concept becoming
01:21this whole lifestyle brand, The Dish and it's now evolved into kind of everything, cars,
01:29original food, different apps, different locations, places, houses, like apartments that are over
01:36the top and really, really unique stuff and original content and it's really becoming
01:42a go-to for different life, it's basically people go on it and they just say, oh my God,
01:46I never saw any of this stuff before and that's kind of what I love, so it's got legs
01:52on its own and it's been three months and we have a million people that are going to
01:55be on it already this month and I have a feeling it could be two million by next month, everyone
01:59that goes on it is obsessed with it because I'm mixing like kind of like the celebrity
02:04style of stuff which I'm accustomed to mixed with the cool edgy stuff and I put it together
02:09and make it really pretty and fun for people, so it's not like a dark site which some of
02:14the fashion sites are kind of like bloggy and dark and too edgy and then some of those
02:19car sites, I make it all kind of look like a pretty celebrity site but for things which
02:25is really original and kind of a new concept, so I kind of call it like the TMZ for lifestyle.
02:33The difference is going to be that I will be instilling a lot of my own voice which
02:37a lot of other websites don't do because they're just the website and I'm kind of a person
02:42attached to the website, so we built a whole studio, so I'm going to be starting to do
02:46video as well talking about my experiences, my trips, the best restaurants here, the best
02:52thing to order, where to sit, about a new app that's available, about an insane apartment
02:58that's in Dubai, crazy stuff from New York, LA, Miami, like all the hot spots, it's becoming
03:04kind of like a bible and we're going to get into the whole DJs and where to go and kind
03:08of do whole partnerships with different big clubs like Tao in the States and just really
03:15constantly keep expanding it because obviously I know so many people from over the years
03:20and people know me, so attaching a face to the product will be the way, we have a thing
03:26called Jonna Thinks on it and it's my kind of stuff and it's just starting, the site
03:32is just evolving, so every time, next month when you go on it, it's going to be even different
03:37and even bigger.
03:38I actually met Kim at a birthday dinner six, seven years ago and we were sitting literally
03:46next to each other and we hit it off and a week later we started speaking and I said
03:50oh I'm thinking of doing a show about PR which is when I was doing PR back then and she's
03:56like I love it and the next thing I know we were sitting in meetings in LA at the Beverly
03:59Hills Hotel with Abuna Murray, the production company and like a month later we did a pilot
04:07for E and it just took off from there so basically I was on the Kardashians and in
04:13the meantime we were building my own show so we started doing Spin Crowd and it got
04:17picked up and then I've just been on TV ever since and then I've been on Kardashians this
04:22entire so many years already at this point, so it's just, it keeps going and I guess people
04:29started really recognizing me really fast in the beginning and I think they love that
04:34on the network and ever since then it's just I've been on and you know Kim is my best friend
04:39so it makes sense and I'm friends with you know everyone in the family so unlike anyone
04:44else that's been on the show it's been very reoccurring over the years and it's fun.
04:52They're the hardest working people, you know when I left Kim two days ago I went to say
04:56goodbye to her, it was 5.30 in the morning, she was working out with a trainer in the
05:00morning and I said it's 5am, you're insane and then she goes all day and everyone's up
05:06at 5am like working already so no one's lazy, no one's sleeping and there's so many terrible
05:13misconceptions that it's just like oh you just have this fit, it's so much work, filming
05:17all day is a lot of work as well like you don't, you're exhausted and drained by the
05:21end of it you know so I think that's the biggest misconception like everybody works, it's like
05:26non-stop so it's like an office in the house because everybody's 5am, there's like already
05:31I was the last one to wake up and I had the plane, they're already up before me, it's crazy.
