00:00Tana's superstar Roger Federer revisited one of his favorite destinations in Dubai,
00:20the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel.
00:22A regular visitor to Dubai, Federer recalled fond memories in the Emirate over the years.
00:28I have had a photo shoot once for menswoke out in the desert, I remember, which was very
00:32cool.
00:33I have gone to the old souk as well.
00:36I'm more in the whole new, what's coming up and about, wanting to go see it right away,
00:41right as it opens.
00:42Having traveled all over the world for tennis tournaments, Federer shared some travel tips.
00:47You have to be aware of it, but not think of it all the time when it comes to jet lag.
00:50I always think that eating habits are very important when you travel.
00:53Make sure you get into the right eating routines.
00:56For me, it's also a bit in preparation, mentally preparing, trying to sleep as much as you
01:00can on the plane.
01:01For me, that's always something that works.
01:02If it doesn't work, at least you try to relax and get into the things right away.
01:09Just make your normal day.
01:11If you can, the first night when you get somewhere, don't go for a romantic dinner.
01:15Don't try to be on your own.
01:17Go out and about.
01:18Go meet up with people that can keep you awake if you're really tired at 5 p.m., 7 p.m.
01:24You want to try to beat that a little bit.
01:26Honestly, I have maybe max three, four days of jet lag.
01:30That's the most I ever get.
01:32By now, I'm very good at it.
01:33The Swiss tennis player also talked about his family's holiday plans and encouraged
01:37people to visit Switzerland's tourist spots.
01:39We're spending a lot of time in Switzerland at the moment, because I've been missing
01:44Switzerland quite a bit the last few years.
01:46For me, it's something that...
01:50It's my home.
01:51It's where I feel most comfortable.
01:52It's where all my friends and families are.
01:54We like the mountains in Switzerland, so we spend a lot of time there now.
01:57That's where I'm going to be a lot in the summertime as well.
02:00Then, usually once or twice a year, if we do have the opportunity, we go out to the
02:04beach somewhere, maybe Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius, or then we come here to Dubai.
02:10Switzerland's such a nice place, diverse, to go visit because of the lakes and the mountains.
02:16Very nice of a city is Luzern.
02:17I'm from Basel personally, so I like that.
02:20Zurich and Geneva are the bigger cities, and then the mountains, you can choose the
02:24range of it.
02:25You can go to Zermatt with the Matterhorn, which is super famous, or then you can go
02:28to Gstaad, more in the Bernese Alps, which is very nice in the summertime, I believe.
02:34And then in the wintertime, also clearly Samaritz, Davos, all that part of Switzerland is beautiful.
02:40More touristy places, Interlaken, I don't know if you've heard of that, with the Eiger
02:43Mönch Jungfrau, the three mountains there, it's very pretty.
02:48I guess a European trip is always pretty, but you've got to make sure you include Switzerland
02:52always.
02:53As Dubai Duty Free Men's Tennis Championships gets underway, Federer is looking to defend
02:58his title and win his sixth tournament in Dubai.
