A girl who was beaten by a woman, resulting in injuries, has been taken to hospital for further treatment, says Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

The Women, Family and Community Development Minister confirmed this in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday (Feb 11).

00:21She also confirmed that the suspect has been detained by the police.
00:25Nancy said a Child Development Department protector has contacted the Sexual Crimes,
00:31Women and Child Investigation Division of the police to take immediate action and the
00:36suspect in the video has been detained.
00:39On Monday, a 48-second video went viral on social media showing a woman hitting and slapping
00:46a girl in front of a supermarket in Jajawi in Perlis.
00:51The woman also pushed the child until she fell and hit her head on the corner of a chair
00:55causing bleeding.
