00:00Five, four, three, two, one.
00:10Today's programme is called Menangani.
00:16It's an escape programme to stop the violence against women.
00:24Our theme is to unite and end violence against women.
00:33That's the theme of Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu.
00:38What we're proud of today is that we targeted only 3,000,
00:45but about 3,800 came.
00:47There are a lot of men today who are showing their awareness.
00:51That's why we're doing this programme to give awareness to the public
00:56about the campaign to stop the violence against women.
01:07At the same time, women who may have been affected
01:12and never knew about this, they also have awareness.
01:17We want those who are affected to come and report the case to the police.
01:26We also have the Anti-Sexual Tribunal.
01:32If it's related, they can report it to us so that action can be taken.
01:38At the same time, we also want to show that our government
01:43is concerned about this issue.
01:46So that people know that we're doing our job to help women.
01:52How is the case in Malaysia?
01:56According to the news, it's increasing.
02:02But that's only what they reported.
02:05Maybe before that it was a lot, but it wasn't reported.
02:10Awareness is already there among women.
02:14That's why we're doing this campaign so that the public,
02:20not just women, but sometimes friends, family,
02:25community leaders, NGOs can help those who are affected.
02:31Sometimes they are ashamed to report.
02:34Sometimes they are afraid to be left by their partners.
02:40They don't want their children to help their family members.
02:48We don't want our women to be victims of these things.
02:56That's why we're doing a lot of programs to help these women.
